Is anyone else hoping that they combine the events of "A Feast for Crows" and "A Dance With Dragons" for the show since both books take place at the same time? [BLACKOUT]I don't think HBO would want to risk not having Tyrion and Daenerys around for an entire season when the time comes to adapt AFFC.[/BLACKOUT]

I hope so. Reading those books was a slog but they'd make a real super novel/season when trimmed and combined.

More of GRRM's comment on an interview about the [BLACKOUT]Blackwater[/BLACKOUT] episode.

It’s the Battle of the Blackwater, which I think was very cruel of David and Dan to give me. I have this reputation of always being too big and they gave me the biggest battle in the series. It’s got everything that will smash a budget to smithereens. It’s got castle walls, horses, ships, fire and a giant chain. We’ll have to see how much actually makes it to screen but I tried to do an episode of the show that was on one hand produceable, and on the other hand exciting and including as many of those elements as we could.” Martin also reveals it’s directed by Neil Marshall (The Descent) whom he admires greatly, and unlike the book will add the additional viewpoint of Stannis Baratheon’s command tent.

Small change but it surely will heighten an already compelling moment. I'm crossing my fingers that the battle transits well to the tv show, GRRM's comment sure sounds real ensuring.

"i am stannis baratheon and they shal bend a knee or i will destroy them"

"I am Arya Stark. Ser Gregor Clegane, Raff the Sweetling, Bollivar, the Tickler and the Hound. Ser Ilyen, Ser Meryn, Queen Cersei and King Joffrey."

:awesome:

That is so true. Lord, I just finished book two and while I can't stop myself from keepin' on, it's slow going. I never would have been able to last this long without having watched the show and having all of the actor's faces in my mind. If the rumor be true that this second season is only half of book two, they will need to do some serious embellishing to make up for all of those pages of who was wearing what and what they heck they were all eating.... :p

That's definitely not true. The [blackout]Battle of Blackwater which occurs at the end of ACOK is episode 9 this season[/blackout]

17 new pics! Better look at the new characters like Stannis, Melisandre, Brienne, Balon Greyjoy & Davos.

It's truly an amazing bunch of pics.

Maisie once again pulls off the boy look for Arya, and Brienne looks exactly as I imagined, just pitch-perfect. :applaud

These pics are amazing. Can't wait for season two!

I think some of book 2 is going to be held back for Season 3 because they're pretty intent on cutting book 3 in half. Honestly, I think they could tell book 3 in 15 episodes but instead are going to try to tell it in 20 episodes. Thus they need to pad Seasons 3-4 out. That's why [blackout]they're saving the occupation, sacking and burning of Winterfell for Season 3. It keeps Greyjoy in the story and gives Bran something to do besides dream about being a wolf for two full seasons, which was more or less all he did in the third book.[/blackout]

But they're probably keeping almost everything else in book 2 in the show. Although, I heard it rumored Riverrun is not going to be seen. But if that's so it makes Jaime's subplot in the second book and Catelyn's personal drama in the second and third books kind of hard to tell.

Maybe it was book three I heard they were cutting in half and not book two. I get all the titles mixed up, lol... :p

Book 3 is being cut in half, but to give certain characters ([blackout]Bran, Rickon and Theon Greyjoy[/blackout]) more to do in Season 3 than what they have in the first half of book 3, they're moving that storyline over from the second book.

I hate the snow! They musta froze their butts off day after day. Hope they got hazard pay! :p

Looks epic....though the Haunted Forrest looks pretty barren in the show. :oldrazz:

But it does look great.

I pictured North of the Wall as an immense forest except for the area near the Wall.

From what I remember the fist of the first men was on the outskirts of the forest and before the Frost Fang mountains. They might add a range of trees in the background of shots, who knows? They did a ton of that type of stuff in season one.
