It's basically god mode in a video game, and god mode is boring as ****. They should at least feel pain or get the hell knocked out of them by the bullet or "die" and wake up outside of the park and have to start over. Otherwise what's the point in even engaging in a gun fight? Glorified target practice? Where's the risk, motivation to fight, sense of danger etc?
What they need is dinosaurs that will eat the guests.

I like the first ep, can't wait to see where this goes.

I find Sidse Babett Knudsen 'Theresa Cullen' character the best looking woman on the show. She is the spitting image of my past boss….who i had the hots for!:hmr:

Ed Harris' character is an ultimate gamer, trying to find that level no one has even started yet. :D

It's a good show and I think it has the potential to live up to, for instance, Stranger Things hype.

How would they do that, though? This is not a virtual simulation. There is no way to enforce it and starting all over again is probably too much hustle

She is gorgeous!

That hype was surpassed already

so did jeffrey wright's character plant the gun and tell delores about it?

Did anybody catch No Surprises on the piano this past episode?

This music for this show is

It's safe to assume that the gun Delores found is a real gun that can kill Guests, right?

That's the first thing that came into my head after 'What the ****?'

I enjoyed tonight's episode more so than the pilot

i wonder how much freedom the robots have inside westworld. i guess the robots eyes can not record because that be violating privacy of the guests

I'm curious to see what happens when more hosts are going against their programming, since it seems like any android going rogue will be dealt with immediately. The only they can really rebel if the rejects from the freezer suddenly woke up from their slumber and attack the programmers.

However, I'm very interested to see where HBO takes this show, especially since I read that the creators have mapped out 5 years worth of story for this series. I just hope it won't turn into another ROME.

The thing that is very interesting is that Maeve had an actual skin infection that led to her discomfort and triggered those specific memories. So that skin they have is highly advanced. I cannot wait till we find out how exactly these robots are made/built

A sick thing that came to my mind... Can hosts get STDs? I generally don't fully understand the whole concept of sex with robots.

Yeah... songs from the 90's being reinterpreted for an old-timey piano is pretty amazing.

Cross-posting my thoughts on the episode:
Am I the only one who doesn't see all that much mystery when it comes to this show and the behavior of some of the characters (specifically Ford, Bernard, and the Man in Black)?

Everybody seems to want to question what those characters are doing, but in my mind that's unnecessary because what they're doing is pretty straightforward. Why they're doing what they're doing is where the mystery lies.

I was watching the Afterbuzz TV discussion on the episode last night and one of the hosts brought up Bernard and Teresa's interactions from the first episode and pointed out that the knowledge that they're sleeping together casts those interactions in a brand-new light.

Having seen the scene where Ford goes up into the park and interacts with the British kid who acts like a guest but turns out to be a host, I got the distinct feeling that this was something that Ford had done before, as it reminded me of the scene in the first episode where we're introduced to Ford as he's interacting with the "Old Bill" host (an encounter that I think Ford himself initiated by going down there, pulling Old Bill out of his bag, and starting him up).

I've seen some speculating online that the gun Dolores found can kill guests and is precipitation to her leading an armed rebellion at some point, but I dont think that's the direction they're going to go in. I think giving Dolores that gun is the first step towards helping her "choose her own adventure", as it were, and I think it has something to do with the "In the weeks ahead" video preview of her wearing gunslinger's clothes.

I'm definitely hooked on the show, and can't wait til next week.

True, but them doing nothing seems like it would make the whole thing kind of boring. This just seems like a problem if you're trying to make an engaging simulation.

I don't think the guests would bring their kids along if there's any chance that they could be hurt or killed by a bullet in Westworld.

It seems like every human guest is a *****ebag except for Jimmi Simpson's character.
