It's HBO, everyone is a villain, or will be by the time the show's on its fourth season.

when Felix will die....and i think he will , it will be more painfully than Sylvester's death. How else do you show that she is evil? :)

So why did HBO 3 weeks ago show scenes from the last two episodes.I think after episode 8 we know exactly whats going to happen.

Loved seeing Lili Simmons from Banshee.

Seeing that some people are still hung up with the two incompetent duo and to lesser extent the writing of this series, I offered you this gem from the late Michael Crichton, the original creator & director of 1973 Westworld, his address was recorded at the American Association for the Advancement of Science on January 25 1999:

Excerpt:
Key Complaints by Scientists about Media
Unnecessary Added Plot (sex, violence, explosions, etc.)
Inaccurate and Implausible Plot Devices
Fear-based and Negative
Why Not Show the Real Method?

And so we come to point four. Why not show the real scientific method in stories?

The article quotes my friend David Milch, a creator of NYPD Blue. His answer is blunt: "the scientific method is antithetical to storytelling." And he's right, at least for movies. Movies are a special kind of storytelling, with their own requirements and rules. Here are four important ones:

Movie characters must be compelled to act
Movies need villains
Movie searches are dull
Movies must move

Unfortunately, the scientific method runs up against all four rules. In real life, scientists may compete, they may be driven - but they aren't forced to work. Yet movies work best when characters have no choice.

So I'm a bit confused.
[BLACKOUT]Why did the MiB use..."that" as a litnus test? Most people don't feel anything killing a robot which I'm sure that's all he saw Maeve as in that moment.[/BLACKOUT]

And yeah those two dopes are terrible. Felix and Sylvester.

Is it odd in me saying that I find the music more entertaining than the actual show?

Well Nolan wants us to buy that 'the park reveals your true self'...to be honest I found everything with this scene to be problematic from the maze randomly appearing to Nolan shoehorning another mystery (what happened a year ago that MiB's wife killed herself?) instead of just giving Ed Harris his shining moment with that monologue

Those two imbecilic characters do have a choice. Kill her or report her to their superiors.

They dont report her because they are afraid that they will get fired,sued,.... But the problem is that we didnt get a scene in the middle of the season when someone makes a mistake and loses his job.

Fact is that in a park like Westworld where you have 100%(yes 100% ) real life looking human robots......fact is that you have cameras and scanners everywhere. i dont care if they have a bomb inside them. The building has advanced 3D printers that can create robots in less than a month. Of Course you would build a scanning device that can see a difference between humans and robots. I mean f... 1 week ago they used a host as a tech guy who gets killed by Clementine. But i can ignore all of this if i am entertained. And i ignore it. i am ignoring that Bernard who is a robot can Walk through westworld and their offices.I am ignoring that noone checks anything. But i draw the line with Sylvester.

I am afraid for season 1. If its a prequel than i expect a huge twist in two weeks that will make us angry because we will feel cheated. and the word ''prequel'' will be used to calm us. I invested around 10 hours for this show so i hope for them that there is a story in season 1. And not just a set up.

About Bernard not setting any alarms off it is probably Ford doing it making sure no one knows about this and his private 'let's make a friend or a killing machine for myself' printer :funny:

The main problem I see is that the earlier episodes went to extensive lengths to inform us about the people overseaing how the hosts function as well as the security measures in place. The amount of red flags Maeve would have triggered by now given her behaviour and history would have been off the chart, not to mention that alterations to her characteristics would have been picked up by someone else. It's not only bad writing, it flies in the face of what the show initially set up about how the park is run. The only way this makes any sense is if Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum are hosts and that Ford is more than aware of what's going on.

the scenes with Hopkins is in the show present time. the cgi Hopkins flashback scene is around 35 years. westworld at the beginning was IMO smaller. F... Ford didnt build the modern offices. he is part of the company because he was there from the beginning. They let him walk everywhere. he can not be that powerful and have everything under control. this is a huge place and the size of building is huge.

In one episode Elsie shows footage from security camera. how a tech guy has sex with a host.

Tis strange

isn't there the theory that Arnold is still alive (in some form) in the park... maybe he's still got access and was the one that modified Maeve and his plan was for her to kinda do what she's doing atm, so he's been working to hide any red flags her actions would have raised...

That theory is a bit far-fetched. How could he be alive in the park and yet no one noticed him after all this time? They show this park is very thoroughly watched and maintained. The only way Ford can get away with his secrets is he built the place and has access inside the control center. And obviously, [blackout]Bernard[/blackout] amongst whoever else keeping his secrets, secret from prying eyes.

Maybe... but if Arnold helped Ford build the park... then it's not that far fetched to think he built a spot he could hide out in...

something bad happened 35 years ago. from a story telling point of view it wouldnt be enough if a robot just shoot at other robots or humans. i think arnold needed to die.

Maeve = QUEEN B*TCH!! love her <3

I loving this show but I have soooo many questions. Like I know guests are not able to be killed while in westworld, right? Cause we have seen the been shot at but not get hurt. But what if somebody kept punching them in the head and mushed up their brain. Or if they were strangled?? Or what if somebody stabbed a guest? would the knife just not insert?

The hosts are programmed to intervene in the case of another guest trying to kill someone and the hosts are themselves prevented from actually causing real harm to guests. For now at least. Maeve is showing there are limitations that can be overcome.

Nothing can truly prevent two guests from hurting each other. Also, how can a guest know if the other person is a guest or a host?

They briefly referenced it in the show but any time two guests get into a fight the hosts are supposed to intervene and prevent any serious injury from happening. That doesn't mean it can't happen but the way everything is monitored I doubt it has as of yet.

This latest episode was fantastic. A ton of theories were confirmed. I can't wait for the finale.

I question how good a show actually is when the audience ends up five episodes ahead of the show itself.
