Was simply amazing :woot: Ben Foster really surprised me in this

Lol, Motown wasn't impressed but the last two loved it.
Doesn't matter, it's two hotties in a western.

i'd be inclined to say that foster actually outshined crowe and bale.

I thought the same of Zhane in Rescue Dawn, I wasn't impressed with Bale but Steve Zhan was putting out an Oscar worthy performance.

awesome movie, truly a throwback to the classic westerns. Bale and Crowe and Foster shined

Going to see this tomorrow.....can't wait.

i thought this was good and suspenseful . i thought bale and crowe did a really good job.they had an interesting dynamic. i also liked ben foster's character. bad but not over the top. i cant say too much without ruining the movie . there is alot of action and good performances . this is definately the best western to come out in quite some time.

I liked it very much .Good old fashioned western with a few modern touches. You could tell Russell Crowe was having a blast being the bad guy . Bale was understated and steady as always . Ben Foster simply awesome a lot of the audience I saw the film with stayed to see who he was in the credits . Also the score , sound and photography and direction made the movie for me .Good to see a good western in 2007 I hope that the box office is good so more westerns get made .

^my girlfriend wa asking the same question about ben foster. i also thought bales son resembled a young christian slater . i didnt expect a luke wilson cameo

This movie was awesome 10/10. Watch it, love it. haha.

saw it this afternoon, great western. ben foster was amazing, i thought and bale and crowe were brilliant as usual

Yeah saw it earlier and I'm not even a big fan of westerns, but the movie is great. Bale seems to be avoiding the "Batman curse" so far with 2 excellent movies this year in this one and in Rescue Dawn.

wow, im pretty surprised i was the only one kinda disappointed. but im glad you all enjoyed it. i really wish i enjoyed it more. i hope this does really well at the box office though, i'd love to see westerns make a comback.

cant wait to see jesse james.

Saw it last night. I really liked it. Strong performances all around, and the New Mexico desert was shot beautifully. It made me want to go watch more Westerns.

russel crowe played more of a bad guy than i expected , which was good.
did the original end the same way ?

Just got back from seeing 3:10 and I was not dissapointed. Bale and Crowe had good chemistry and Foster was brillant. 9/10

No, in the original both Dan and Ben Wade both got on the train while it was leaving with Wade's group chasing them. Dan shoots Charlie and for some reason I can't remeber; Dan's wife was there and see's them go off to Yuma. It started raining and that was the end. Sorry if I didn't explain well, it's been awhile since I seen the original

Great film. I really enjoyed Bale and Crowe (as always) and Foster was a great surprise. Also didn't expect to see Alan Tudyk or Luke Wilson; their parts weren't big but they both had some good moments. Definitely a return to form for the western genre. Hopefully this will be the beginning of a resurgence of GOOD western films and none of that "American Outlaws" crap.

There have been some very good westerns with Open Range and The Proposition. However, they have not been big films. Please check out these films before saying this might be a "resurgence of GOOD western films". Kevin Costner and Robert Duvall gave great performances in Open Range, and this is a very good film.

Back to the movie, the movie was great. I felt bad for Christian Bale's character, but Bale did a great job, and Russel Crow was amazing. Great performances all around. Ben Foster really surprised me, and gave an awesome performance as well.

I have seen it today.

In short, 8 out of 10. Awesome action western with excellent cast and amazing director's job, but without impressive script (it was more of Hollywood's standart than attempt to show something new).

Wasn't as good as I expected cause it had a lot of hollywood script issues but still worth watching for the performances and the directing was pretty good. Crowe and Foster were great, Bale wasn't too impressive but held his own in an understated performance. Worth watching if you like westerns and one of the better remakes I've seen in the 00's but don't go in expecting too much either. 7/10.

Indeed good sir indeed. Guy Pearce simply owns in The Proposition, I actually lent out Open Range to a friend who I went to see this movie with. I'm not much of a Kevin Costner fan actually but that was such a great movie. His most impressive as a actor/director since Dances With Wolves and miles ahead of Wyatt Earp.

Let's not forget Tombstone in the modern Western discussion. Or the post-Unforgiven era as some call it. People give Tombstone crap for not beiong in the "classic" Western mold but what they do not realize like all genres, the Western had to evovle stylistically as well.
