Ban on the N-word

Whatever happened to "Sticks and stones may break my bones but words can never hurt me?"

I took my hammer to his skull and told him that's how bad that **** feels. :cmad:
He leaves me alone now. :yay:

Banning the word is gonna make an even bigger impact. Might as well ban every racial/ethnic slur in the book.

But it IS still censored at Hype,
Which is ridiculous, considering the word in its original meaning (a female dog) is still a commonly accepted term among countless kennel groups and breeders.

the problem wont be fixed by censoring the word or banning the use of it. i ran this by my fellow hyper heypapajinx...but im interested in starting a cultural movement. i dont use the n word unless im talking to one of my friends but even then i use the polite ending with the letter A..instead of the one that ends in ER...either way my idea is instead of taking the word back, which hasnt worked to take its power away, you throw it back and start calling white people by the N word. in its most derogatory manner. imagine the insult and emotional mind trip a white supremacist will suffer when you call him by a word that represents everything he hates...you dont bring a knife to a gun fight....lets throw the word back. with such a culturally diverse society in america it is the white people that are becoming less and less and minoritys are becoming the majority... thats been their fear since the beginning...to be the minority...to be the new ******...although i will never understand what its like a black man i do understand the origin of the word and, being mexican myself, have suffered similar verbal attacks...which is what brought about this idea...any thoughts?

I know what you meant to say; with the '-er" ending but I used call white people "*****' sometimes. Their reactions were something else. The only white person I call that on a regular basis would be ATP :p

Seriously though, I'm all up for social experiments and I'd love to see the reaction this gets.

Well, you're an honorary one.

Polite? You mean tolerable?

Putting a ban on the N-word? Nah, people just need to watch their words.

Throw it around as easily as you want but they'll be problems if it's thrown my way, especially from a non-black person. I don't even tolerate it from black people.

If it's a white person saying it to me in a negative context, I'm gonna let them know it ain't cool around to say that. If it's in a conversation where it's the subject of race and is used subjectively yeah cool.

For the most part, nah it's a ass whoopin.

^I meant to comment on that too.

if anything of what i wrote i could perhaps think of a better way to write i would change the way i phrased that sentence...the one that ends in A i see as a term that symbolizes brotherhood. the only persons i refer to with that word are my bandmates and we have been friends for over 10 years and they are pretty much my family away from home...so ...

An example is in Shaun of the Dead when Ed is like, "wassup, *****?"
Pretty much half the theatre was black when I saw that, and they all cracked up at it, because he was just acting like a fool. Now Kramer was out and out malicious with his intent, which is why it's two different things. White people using it isn't the issue, it's the context.

Oh, most black people have a friend like you. Somebody of another race who you can crack racial jokes around w/o things getting all weird. It's just that "polite" was a weird word to use. Like GunBlade said, "tolerable" is more fitting. No worries

So you wouldn't feel uneasy if it's supposedly used endearingly by a white person?

Simon Pegg writes some good stuff, man. Come on, now.

Yes, I would. But he was directing it at Shaun, which is why it was so absurd.

Interesting. "Absurdity" seems to get a lot of controversial things of the hook. I'm guilty of letting it happen myself, just never thought about it.

It was a general question.
