The Dark Knight Rises Bane

Anyone remember the scene in the BTAS episode "Bane" where Batman watched the video of Bane breaking out of prison? It'd be awesome if the opening scene was similar to that video.

Please someone tell me they remember that too:woot:

Even if Bane doesn't literally break Batman's back like in Knightfall, I think that it's very important he "break" Batman as in he physically destroys him in their first battle. I don't believe we've ever really seen in a Batman movie Batman be utterly beaten and torn apart in a fistfight, and it could be quite shocking to see. Just have Batman left a bloody, battered wreck.

Maybe even do it like an altered version of Knightfall, where Bane learns that Bruce Wayne is Batman, but waits in the shadows for the right moment to strike. You can set up a scenario in the first act of the film where Batman is beleagured, beset on all sides. The police are after him, he's struggling to bring down the last of the mob, and he's locked in a battle of wits with this new master thief, Catwoman, all while still dealing with the emotional fallout of Rachel's death. And while this is going on, Bane is in the shadows, working his way inevitably towards destroying Batman. Perhaps a scene of him torturing Coleman Reese to learn Batman's secret identity, then killing him once he gets it. And just when Batman's near breaking point from all that's going on, that's when Bane strikes. Maybe you could even do it like in Knightfall, where Bane attacks Bruce Wayne instead of Batman. Bruce - just about out on his feet - staggers home, up from the Batcave and into the mansion... and Bane is waiting for him.

Cue the aformentioned physical dismantling.

Then for the whole second act... Batman is out-of-action. Either Bruce is beaten into a coma, or he's too injured to leave his hospital bed. Bane claims he has broken the Batman and takes control of the city, unifying what's left of the mobs under his rule. He becomes what Batman's biggest detractors in Gotham feared Batman would be: a tyrant terrorising good citizens through the use of fear. The police are overwhelmed, and the only one that can fight against him is Catwoman. Though enjoying her status as a foil for Batman, in his absence she realises his importance, and tries to be the same symbol he was. But try as she might, she can't stop Bane.

And the third act is about Bruce Wayne finding the strength to pick himself up and battle Bane once more, and in this final battle he triumphs, saving Gotham and finally being recognised as the hero and saviour he is. The Dark Knight Rises.

Why was Bane raised in a prison anyway?

My memory's foggy, but it's something like his father was a notorious killer and drug baron who died before he could be brought to justice, but he was so universally reviled and the desire for punishment against him was so strong, that the decision was made to have his son - born in prison to his also-criminal mother - live out the father's multiple life sentences.

Im surprised no one is whining about his height yet, but give it time I suppose.

Gotta read Knightfall again I haven't read it for a long time. I would love to see Batman beaten and all bloody.

The nerd rage is currently focused, like a ******ed laser, on Hathaway.

Don't worry, they'll get to Hardy soon enough.

Speaking of Bane's prison origin, anyone think that the scouting of Asian locations might have to do with some location for the character's origin?

Lol, I must admit, I just questioned it another thread, but honestly, I feel as though Nolan can almost approach Bane as a totally new character.

He made multiple changes to the established characters with long histories and fan followings. Bane, for most people, is remembered for that one arc in the comics, and from B&R. That's really it, so whatever they decide to do won't be met with nearly the same level of criticism Catwoman's going to endure. That I can guarantee.

I missed Bronson in the cinema so is it good movie? I seen Layer Cake, RocknRolla and Inception how good actor Hardy is.

If his mask is any color other than red, blue or black, I am boycotting.

Just ****ed my pants. Would love to see something along the lines of this, though there needs to be some type of plausible motive for Bane to want to come to Gotham and do all of this.

The movie itself is just alright, but see it for his performance.

What other color would it possibly be? Turquoise? Neon pink? This is Chris Nolan, not Joel Shumacher. :p

Or maybe just figure it out on his own like he did in the comics. I can totally see his character being used as a hired hunter type guy.

As far as Reese, I don't think he'll be back.

Well I certainly hope not. I hated his character. But you think some mob members would go after Reese and try to make him squeal.

Heath was 6'1 165 when he played the joker... thats thin bro

Ya, that is ridiculously thing.

I'm agreeing with you totally on that, and just to make it clear for others.

I'm 6'2 naturally 205lbs

My friend is 5'7 and he is 165lbs

So Heath being 6'1, 165lbs is insane

The only thing I know of Bane is from the animated series, and from what I remember he seemed kind of dull and not THAT much of a threat to Batman.

Im reading he breaks Batman's back in the comics, but I dont know Im kind of underwhelmed.

Can anyone explain why hes such a credible villain?
