I'm all for it, but overdub the voice.

How tall is that guy, really?

this guys does intrigue me also....but can he act?? Can he even speak English good enough???

I think you mean, "Can he even speak English WELL enough???"

Singh is a 387 pound power lifter from India who has an extensive background in New Japan Pro Wrestling, Japanese grappling, martial arts - akido and judo - Greco Roman wrestling, western wrestling and the Indian martial art of kalari.

He appeared as a surprise guest on Late Night with Conan O'Brien scheduled guest Adam Sandler on May 26, 2005. Even though he doesn't speak much English, Singh did say that he was 7' 2" and weighed 400 pounds.

Has signed a contract with the WWE and is training and wrestling in OVW until he is called up.

Bane should have an accent he is columbian ...I think

Well, they never really say where he is. Some say he is Puerto Rican..some say Columbian...heck..if my memory serves me right someone talked about him being Russain at first or something but now basically some kind of hispanic ethnic group. But yea...he at least needs some hispanic accent I guess.

Dalip as Bane but Benicio Del Toro's voice overdubbed. Perfect match. Full face mask for Bane, makes it look more believable.

If you want an intellectual tough guy, The Rock might be able to pull it off. He's got charisma and is really a darn good actor, as well as physically imposing. I know he's never had a serious role like Bane would be, but Nolan could really get a good performance out of him. He's the best acting big man out there.

Actually, that would have to be Michael Clarke Duncan.

They would most likely have to use a wrestler to play Bane because no Hollywood actor, with the except of Michael Clark Duncan, is physically big enough to play the role.

As for Andre. Andre was out of shape...hell, he was never in shape.

Guys like Bane and Croc and Grundy should be played by naturally BIG guys. They can't just be really bulky 6-footers standing on apple boxes - they've got to be big *and tall*, like that Singh guy. They've got to positively *tower* over Batman, more than even Ra's did in Begins. 7 feet plus would be ideal.

Bane should always be big and not get any larger when he's on the venom. You can't just have mass coming from nowhere, Hulk style, it's silly. Venom should just be like super-adrenaline or something.

You'd probably need another actor doing the voice, because the combination of huge guy and decent actor (who can do the right accent) is unlikely. But you *don't* need to have him always masked to do that - you can dub one actor with another's voice and make it look perfectly fine. Darth Maul's voice was done by a different actor than Ray Park, and Andy Macdowell was completely overdubbed by Glen Close in one of her films.

Yes, please

I agree, I would really like to see Bane done right - and I think the Rock is truly the only possible candidate out there. He is the best "big guy" actor out there outside of Duncan, and I just can see MCD playing Bane.

WTF!?!?! The Rock as Bane, you people have no idea what you're talking about. If you don't care about Bane's size in the movie then sure, go cast Rock. The Rock is the same height as Ra's Al Ghul(Liam Neeson) and Rock is big yeah, but no where near as big as Bane should be. We need a huge guy who can also act. Thank God none of you are the casting director.

I completely agree with you everywhere in this statement except in one part
I think when Bane kicks in his Venom some CGI should be added to show him with more muscle, not hulk level but noticing enough to make the crowd go "aaaaaawwwww **** Batman's ****ed now"

I think The Rock can pull off a good Bane. He's about 6'4, which really isn't tall as Bane should be (Bane should be at least 6'8, though there are very few actors out there like that). I think The Rock would do a good if not great job. I'd give it to him, but I'm still going with Dalip Singh, perhaps with Danny Trejo doing the voice.

For me if Bane was ever in another Batman movie (which I hope never happens, there are far greater Bat-villians that deserve to be seen first) I think that the only guy I seeing pulling Bane off would be professional body builder Nasser El Sonbaty

I heard someone`s idea for killer croc and thought it might work here too.

What about Ron Perlman as bane. Ok the age might be dodgy for the part (how old is bane supposed to be) but his acting credits are far better than all the smackdowners in this thread.lol

I think you guys are overestimating the need for Bane to be an oscar-nominee. The guy who plays him on screen doesn't even have to do any of the voicework. Bane's face is never (i think) even ever seen in the comic, why should it be in the movie? Bane's voice can be overdubbed much like Darth Vader in the SW movies.

i know this is off the subject but damn it they should've used this guy for Juggernaut. this is the guy from The Longest Yard.

he would've been perfect for that part

but i guess i could see him as Bane as well
