Batman: Arkham City - - - - - - - Part 16

The combat challenges make me want to break my controller, I love the stealth challenges though. I just need to practice and memorize the quick combos and gadgets and I will be able to beat them easily I think. At the moment I don't have the patience...but I plan to Platinum both of them soon!

I beat both AA and AC last month and enjoyed both games immensely.

Yeah, I literally was raging into Hulk mode after hearing "Augmented reality training, online" for the 2,847th time.

I think the Arkham games are awesome but I don't find the challenges fun or particularly interesting. Would rather do the fighting and stealth within the campaign and an open world environment with an accompanying story & narrative. I'd also prefer they gave me a few extra sidequests than using up disc space on challenges. What a waste of DLC opportunities!

By now most of you have probably found all the Easter Eggs from Arkham City. Either way Arkhamvideos has released it's latest videos from Batman myth

These videos are very well put together and I though you'd enjoy watching them.

After watching all three of those and finding I hadn't seen or noticed even 3/4's of those, it leaves me wondering what the hell could that final easter egg be that Rocksteady claims we haven't found yet?

I freaking love the combat challenges. I've easily put in over 48 hours on the combat challenges alone in this game. I still play them today trying to beat my old scores. Just about every map I have over 100,000 points with each character. Robin and Nightwing are definitely my favorites and I score the most points with Nightwing

I like the combat challenges as well, they are really entertaining.

INTERESTING!

I'm not at all a fan of the silver age... with all that Bat Shark-repellant spray and madcap 4-color fun and such, but it has potential. The idea of having free roam over all of Gotham City, of encountering the origins for all these characters in an Arkham Asylum is just opening type of storyline... that could be very interesting. A totally different gadget set, and perhaps they'll fully work out the co-op plan so that Batman and Robin (in Dick Grayson-like escrima mode, a blend of AC's Robin and Nightwing) can fight side by side. Maybe even get some co-op with the Justice League, each of which, imho, should play like a god-mode:
Superman = Batman + Flight + One Hit KOs + Invulnerability
Green Lantern = Batman + Flight + Invulnerability + Infinite Gadgets
Flash = Batman - Senses + Slo Mo Button
etc, etc...

But those are just my thoughts. Building up the game well so that they can return with an Arkham 4 that actually has the tech to build on the storyline properly might just be necessary.

Meanwhile, I'll be waiting for a superman game :(

I'm pretty sure everyone is taking "Silver Age" way too literally. I think it means the developments of the Silver Age will be introduced eg Justice League, Brave & The Bold, etc over "The Batman of Planet X".

Wow, well I guess it was worth them including all this stuff if some people are getting so much out of it.

Yeah definitely. I find them to be very addicting, not so much the stealth though. I do the stealth ones once and then never do them again.

I'm the same as well and I was going to mention it earlier as well. I sometimes put the game back in just to do some combat challenges again for a change. They're so damn fun and a lot of it has to do with amazing combat system and how fluid it is. I think my combo record was about x142 (don't quote me on that but I know it was +120).

Talking about it now, I'll probably pop the game back in tonight to do a few rounds. :brucebat:

Im the opposite, I loathe the combat stuff but love the stealth!

I love them both, but I like the combat slightly more.

I prefer combat, no guns please. I just like beating crap of out the thugs.

Random question: Who do you think are the top 5 portrayed villains in the Arkham games? My choices are:

1. The Joker
2. The Penguin
3. The Scarecrow
4. Mr. Freeze
5. Harley Quinn

I thought everyone was for the most part very well done except for Bane.

Joker, Scarecrow, Harley Quinn, Hugo Strange, Penguin, and Riddler are my favorites though :D (that's 6 villains but still :P).

Joker
Riddler
Penguin
Scarecrow
Freeze

Top 5 least utilized

Strange
Two Face
Bane
Black Mask
Croc

To be fair, I am certain that Two Face and Black Mask will have larger roles in the sequel. Croc would be almost a safe bet, as he is now loose in the sewers. I would argue on Strange, but I am too tired, and most of my points I have been said already.

My List of Best Portrayed:

1. Joker
2. Strange
3. Scarecrow
4. Penguin
5. Harley Quinn

They built the game up through the trailers like he would be a big part of the game. All he has is one scene in the beginning and then the catwoman stage. That was all good but I wanted more. Based off of what would two face have a bigger role. No easter eggs point to him even being a part of it. Black mask at least escapes.
