Then...why was Arkham Asylum so amazing since Vengeance was only borderline mediocre?

IMO Batman: Arkham Asylum had much better gameplay than Batman: Vengeance for starters. The story in AA is pretty direct and it payed tribute to the 70 year mythology of Batman with it's Easter eggs. Also having the BTAS voice cast alumni was an added bonus in AA .

Maybe Ra's could use Gotham as a testing ground for whatever device he uses to cause the earthguake, and your ultimate objective is to stop him from using it on the rest of the world.

This.

No, no, no....the main point of my reply totally flew past your head there....I was just stating that just because Ra's al Ghul was a villain in Dark Tomorrow doesn't mean he won't be awesome if he were to be a villain for Arkham 3. I mean, c'mon, Joker was the villain in Vengeance and that game was just "okay" even if it featured Batman's greatest enemy. Rocksteady would surely do Ra's al Ghul justice.

I see well then it could work.

I definitelly want to see agreat Batman and Robin (Dick Grayson) Team up.

So I'm I the only one that's preordered the game already from Best Buy?

I'd rather these games not abandon the beautiful Gothic style they have in favour of a generic destroyed city to explore like can be seen in so many other games.

Agreed. The environment and atmosphere these games have created is nothing short of amazing.

Nice. Tapes are back, and the way I like it.

Finally watched IGN's monster 22 minute demo of Arkham City. Holy crap this game is beautiful. Both Batman and Catwoman look awesome to play as. I love the improvements to the freeflow combat since I think that is the greatest combat system ever in a game. Over 400 challenges from the Riddler is ridiculous also that room with the hostage was awesome. This game needs to come out now.

Agreed. 18th of October cannot come soon enough!

So Quincy Sharp is a hypnotic pawn of Hugo Strange . It seems based on The Riddler's riddle, Nygma has somehow discovered what Strange's ultimate agenda is behind Arkham City.

How do you attempt to understand what is going on in Arkham City when all of the answers are strange?

If any of you are reading the Arkham City comic series that bridges the gap between AA and AC, it goes into more detail about Hugo's hold over Quincy Sharpe.

No I did that early this morning as well.

So I have a question. Did the guy just give you the receipt and tell you that'd you'd get the code for the Robin challenge once you actually pick up the game?

Because I'm not sure if he really knew what he was doing. Is that how it went down for you too?

It was a girl and yes she gave me a receipt .

Ok cool.

Thought the guy messed up or something and was supposed to give me the code now or print it on the bottom of the receipt.

I seriously can't wait.

For someone who hasn't...what has Strange been doing to Sharpe?

For someone who hasn't...what has Strange been doing to Sharpe?

In Issue 1, Strange helps Sharp prepare for his tv interview on Gotham Nightliner with Vicki Vale and Jack Ryder. Instructing Sharp via video conference from a laptop that Sharp is Gotham's savior, the hero of the Arkham Riot (It's implied that Quincy Sharp is under some kind of hypnotic suggestion ) During the interview Sharp announces the ceremonial dedication of a new city hall schedule for the next day. Vicki points out with actual footage proof that Sharp had no key role in restoring order during the Joker's take over of Arkham Island instead it was Batman who was the actual savior . Sharp begins to get really nervous then Hugo via an earpiece tell sharp to take control and remember that he's the savior of the Arkham Riot .

During the dedication ceremony Sharp's speech is interrupted by an extremely enhanced Titan brother and sister duo who were once associated with Two-Face and his gang but were actually working for Hugo Strange all along . Batman arrives on the scene battling the duo with explosive gel and tranquilizers just as it appears he's about to defeat them. Hugo inside a nearby limo activates twin detonators located within the bodies of the Titan duo. The Explosion causes death of 300 people, Billions in property damage etc...

Sharp issues martial law, declaring Gotham City a war zone. Sharp has the GCPD (Gotham police) marginalized. While he begins to campaign for a privatized military force to guard the inmates of Arkham City.

Issue 2, Hugo watch Sharp give a speech at the ground breaking dedication ceremony for Arkham City. Batman heads to Sharp's mansion to find more info behind Arkham City instead he lands into a trap set up by Hugo Strange that is meant to study his various fighting and survival techniques . Although Batman manages to disrupt the video transmission preventing Strange from learning much .

Manipulating him as a good doctor.
We can see Sharp is a really insecure man and can easily be manipulated. The press keep doing hard questions and trying to corner Sharp for his campaign and for what happened in the Asylum, but Hugo is always telling Sharp, through a comunicator, what to do and say.
For that insecurity, he need someone smarter than him to guide him through. Strange is doing just that and, after some public attacks against Quicy, orchestrated by Hugo himself, he convinces the mayor of the Arkham City idea.
