Batman: Arkham Knight - Part 1

I wouldn't mind this being the end of the present story/timeline while WB Montreal does yearly or bi yearly AO sequels until they properly get to AA to complete the whole series and timeline,Would be two console gens to complete most of Batman's career in the Arkham universe and there's so much potential with pre-AA and post AO stories
as I said once they should take their time like Rocksteady does even if it means not doing it bu yearly as that turned out to be a mess foe them and them not pushing thins back. and tell there publisher boss's at WBIE it somethin isn't ready. It's apparent not every studio should do Bi yearly.

I'm still really curious about Azrael's role..IF any,I think he'll be either the knight' stop henchman or actually be the knight.

What if Anarky is the knight?

I did think about Anarky But i'll wait for more info.

Included the skin of this and I'll pre-order

It might look a bit bare in 3D, though they did adapt the BTAS character skins (albeit in cel-shaded format).

I'd love for the Burton car to return. Hell, even the Forever one fits this game's aesthetic. Always did appreciate the Geiger influences.

The same way limo drivers do I guess and he doesn't park in side walks when he has to do his work out side of it , that's how.

With Son of Batman coming out this year, does anyone else think Damian may make an appearance in Arkham Knight? I mean, Talia is suppose to be dead, Ra's may be alive, it just feels like is opportunity for good drama.

I'm really hoping for a moment where a NPC teams up with you similar to Batman and Gordon fighting together in Origins. It was teased in City, but I'd love for this to happen.

And maybe it's me, but I thought Batman resembled Zack Snyder a bit.

the chance's aren't high.

I like what Rocksteady say about Joker being a disruptive force for the villains. Now he's gone, they're more of a unified force - depite their different methods.

All games have a few glitches
From what I hear about BAO (and it refusing to even initiate installation on my PC), you got really really lucky

What kind of stuff happened? I'm playing through it for the third time (my fave of the series, so far) and I've never had a problem with it, other than the Batwing cutscenes freezing for a few seconds.

I'd love to see a tumbler skin!

The only glitch i got in AO was it froze in a cutscene with Bane.

People are FAR too hard on Origins. It's a VERY good game IMHO. So it has a few glitches.. Ok, I better NEVER play a Bethesda game ever again then...

I was playing Origins yesterday again and anyone who says it's a bad game is lying to themselves. It does lack the spit and polish that Rocksteady brought to the table, but for the most part it's still a damn good, and fun, game to play. At worst, it's a glorified expansion pack for Arkham City. It still has the best story of the Arkham games to date. Honestly, with the exception of a couple of lag issues I really don't know what people were going on about in terms of glitches. I haven't even bothered to download the update for the game.

This. I personally experienced no glitches or bugs. Only thing like I said was on occasion the batwing glitch the audio would be off. But that was here and there. It's def a glorified expansion on City. But isn't that a good thing? Same combat with a few different things thrown in. That cool new crime scene mode. Def has the best story and the characterization is great. So I really don't understand the flack and hate it gets. And how some don't even wanna play it at all, they just wanna "pass" on it. Really missing out on some fun. Solid game.

Yea the only glitch I encountered was the audio being off during the batwing scenes. I loved origins, and despite the fact that it once again featured the joker, I feel he was by far utilized the best in origins.

Agreed with jmc. The slagging off Origins receives is a bit old now. I found it to be a fine game.

They offered the batcave, the batwing quick travel and a great crime scene reconstructor amongst the best story of the three. I hope to see another Batman game from them. It's our best hope for more 'Arkham'.

if they did change it up from A.C people would've raged as well. The game really couldn't win.

I completely disagree! The game lacks the soul of Rocksteady's game. It's not nearly as polished, the graphics are a steep down, the sound is worse, the attention to detail is far from the level of Rocksteady, the gameplay and level design is not as thought out...I could go on and on. It's simply not up to Rocksteady's standards at all. The fast travel didn't really add anything because it just got old seeing that same old cutscene over and over again. I liked the bat cave however.

Heck, even if I much prefer Bane in AO over Rocksteady's games, that's also the only thing story related that I liked. The story of AC might not have been the best possible, but the PRESENTATION of the story is so much better! The overall feel, if you know what I mean.

If AC is a 9-10/10, I'd say AO being a 7/10 is justified.

Well, that's the thing, it wasn't made by Rocksteady. WB Montreal were always going to have a tough time reaching their level. Did they make it? Of course not, the game does lack polish, bit it's not nearly as bad as some claim it to be. For a first up attempt from a fledgling game studio they did a pretty damn good job of following on from the previous game, which is all they really did. Like I said, at worst it's a glorified expansion pack of City, which is perfectly fine in my book.

WB Montreal is in the same place where Treyarch was a long time ago when they first started working on the COD franchise if anything they started out even better. Treyarch after making a **** game with COD 3 and then getting progressively better with each installment has become the #1 COD producer for Activision. Granted they had the advantage of Infinity Ward (Respawn) falling apart due to legal issues but my point still stands.

Given time I'm sure WB Montreal can reach the level of Rocksteady.

More Details On "Batman: Arkham Knight"

Set a year after the events of "Arkham City," Gotham is now under siege from the likes of Two-Face, Penguin, Harley Quinn, and Scarecrow. There's also a new villain in the mix, a new character created for the game which Rocksteady and DC's Geoff Johns have reportedly been working on together. Dubbed 'The Arkham Knight', he has an outfit that appears to resemble a blend of the Batsuit and Iron Man.

Story-wise Scarecrow plans to unleash a chemical weapon on the city, thus most of the civilian population has been evacuated. What's left are an outnumbered police force and hundreds upon hundreds of gang members. Events of the previous games are taken into account, specifically the Joker's death. The character will NOT be back, but his passing has had an impact on the city and the game explores how the villains now fill that power vacuum.

Gotham in the new game is "five times larger than 'Arkham City'" and is spread across three different islands throughout the city. However, Rocksteady's director Sefton Hill says: "As we've said before with Arkham City, it's not about scale as much as detail. We want to make sure the world is rich and full of interesting things to do. We're not trying to create the biggest open-world game ever. We are trying to create a really rich, vibrant, dense open world."

A big part of getting around that world is the Batmobile. Hill says: "We wanted to make the best car in any game ever. That was our mission statement right from the start." Fans will be able to summon the Batmobile to their location, and the car is said to serve as the basis for the Riddler's challenges.

The game is single-player only, the new consoles are powerful enough that cutscenes and gameplay switching are seamless. Combat has been diversified, and gadget use is said to be "more dynamic". Finally, Kevin Conroy is confirmed to be returning to voice The Batman in the upcoming game.

"Batman: Arkham Knight" hits Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC this October.
