I'm not sure either way which direction they will go, but I definitely think it's a legitimate theory.

The army would exist and be Scarecrow's, him giving the orders. Batman has imagined people before in the Arkham games. Scarecrow could have mixed a stronger dose which brings out Batman's fears more realistically this time. The Arkham Knight being a twisted manifestation of himself.

I'm not sure how Scarecrow could amass that kind of power over an army that huge and technologically advanced, so I can only imagine that they belong to the AK.
And it can't be an hallucination all throughout the game. Scarecrow's fear toxin doesn't work like that, and the only person who we've seen implant false sights, sounds and thoughts in Batman's head, without affecting the reality around him, was the Mad Hatter.
And if the other villains are interacting with AK, without the presence of Batman, then he can't be an hallucination. I'd find the whole thing implausible and anti-climactic.

And if the AK IS an hallucination, then that must mean Scarecrow is working alongside somebody else.

I don't know. He was absent for a long time, and did want to exact revenge on Batman. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Well he made that cryptic message incredibly ****ing difficult in AC, so maybe he can pull off the impossible :p

The army is the League of Assassins. AK is Damian. The vengeance he seeks is over Talia's death.

That's my theory. It's the one that makes the most sense to me. As for the mystery voice, no matter how many times I listen to it, it's got Bane's south American accent. It sounds a lot like him. I can imagine Bane saying something like death would not bring Batman any suffering. That's why he broke him instead of killing him in Knightfall.

But the voice says "fear" and when you hear that word, you think of Scarecrow :o

No, just the memory part which made him forget Batman's identity.
I wouldn't say just the memory part. There's nothing in AA or AC's that suggest that AO's Bane acts the same as in the others. It's quite the opposite actually. When it seemed to him that he would get Batman through his plan in AC, he locks himself in a simple elevator. Even his manner of speech and behavior is almost childlike. He's just a brute. I'd say his brain was pretty damaged by the TN-1 he injected himself. Maybe all that electric shock took a toll on him, too.

If they keep the pattern, I don't see Bane being what people are expecting him to be and, if we get AC's Bane again, then I rather not have him at all.

Or fear could just be a major theme in the game, since Scarecrow is a main villain and all. Plenty of other Batman villains have used the word fear before. It's hardly a patented Scarecrow word in Batman's world.

All I hear, and continue to hear is Scarecrow.

AA and AC's Bane wasn't written the same because Rocksteady wrote him like he was a moron for no reason. It's one of the chief complaints of these games. Bane is one of Batman's most intelligent villains yet he was acting like a fool.

He has moments where he seems smart in AC when he uses Batman to collect the Titan for him, and he's clearly got his marbles about him. Then he does a 180 and makes a clumsy bull like charge at Batman and ends up trapped behind an elevator gate.

This is all pre Arkham Origins when there was no TN-1 back story.

All I hear, and continue to hear is Scarecrow.

You should see a doctor about that :o

But since Scarecrow is the main villain, in cahoots with AK, and fear being his main theme of villainy, and the fact he says the word fear in the E3 Reveal, then that's said again in this trailer, with a similar sounding voice - you can't help but think of him :p

Good lord talk about reading too much into one simple commonly used word in a sentence. You'd think he said fear three or four times in his dialogue. I was more caught up by the actual voice and the south American edge it had to it. Far more telling to me than using the word fear once.

You stick to your theory, I'll stick to mine :shr:

It seemed like WB Montreal wanted to give an explanation for Bane's behavior being like that, so they did the TN-1 back story. Which I appreciated. AO's Bane is the one I wanted to see and it's nice that they acknowledged that what we had in the other games did not live up to the character.
Even though we have a different writer once again for AK, like I said, if they go by the last games, including AO, I wouldn't have hopes of getting the Bane we want once again.

And I checked the trailer once again to hear what you guys were talking about. It seems like Scarecrow talking, to me. The same one from the first trailer.

Watch it be Scarecrow ;)

Same here and I have come to the same conclusion. But why does Scarecrow sound a bit foreign now? :hmm

The TN-1 back story basically spelled out that prolonged use severely compromises the memory center of the brain. It was basically their way of securing Batman's identity for the end of the game.

I don't know why they did that either because Bane in the comics figured out who Batman is, just like in AO. It wouldn't even have been messing with the continuity in AA and AC because just because Bane never referred to Batman as Bruce doesn't mean he didn't know. In fact Bane rarely addresses him as Bruce in the comics.

Watch it be Scarecrow

Only if Scarecrow has spent the last few years in South America and picked up the accent.

Because odds are it's not Scarecrow.

Well he's picked up an entirely new voice (actor), so it isn't that much of a stress :o

Harley got a new voice actor. Barbara got a new voice actor. Joker got a new voice actor in Origins etc. They didn't all randomly pick up accents, so why would Scarecrow?

Chances are, as of now, that it is :)

Right because he said the word fear once :o

Hm...

Scarecorw is working with Arkham Knight
Arkham Knight keeps Batman out of Ace Chemicals
A bunch of hazardous materials is brought to Ace Chemicals
Random worker says Scarecrow is moving along with a plan, and has an army
Arkham...Knight...has an army too..., right?

The voice is clearly Killer Moth.

Because his voice actor is Australian :p
Even his accent in the E3 reveal sounded foreign, unless it was Bane dubbing him? :wow:

That and the way he said it...Fearrrr...he says it the same way in the E3 trailer :p

So? Are you seriously trying to say a competent voice actor, or any competent actor for that matter can't change their accent to play an American character?

His voice did not sound foreign in the E3 reveal. I haven't seen one person say 'What's up with Scarecrow he sounds foreign all of a sudden' after that footage was released.

That and the way he said it...Fearrrr...he says it the same way in the E3 trailer :p

I'd assume that his whatever happened to him after Asylum might have done a bit of damage to him and his voice. Hence why his voice is deeper in this game. Frankly, I prefer this voice.

Compare, carefully...and that goes for everyone lurking.

Yeah still not hearing the South American Bane voice in the E3 trailer. Did the echo effect they gave Scarecrow's voice in that actually dupe you into thinking he had an accent lol?
