Batman: Arkham Knight

Best villains for me;

- The Joker. Over used but consistently brilliant. Special kudos to Origins and Knight for really showing why he is Batman's greatest nemesis.
- Scarecrow. He was great in Asylum, but John Noble's performance in AK really shot him up to the truly great.
- Bane in Origins. This how Bane should be done. Cunning, ruthless, strategic, and menacing.
- The Penguin. Mainly for City and Origins, Cobblepot was fantastic. From his museum of horrors in City, to his barbaric ship of fights in Origins. I loved the personal grudge he had against the Waynes.
- Mr. Freeze. For both City and the Cold Cold Heart DLC. They nailed the tragic character of Victor Freis and his origin.

Yeah he was at first but I was mixed on TN-1 Bane at the end

I wouldn't deduct points off him for that, just like I wouldn't for Joker in spite of the stupid Titan Joker ending in Asylum.

It's really too bad they had to follow established Arkham canon. If he hadn't been a giant idiot in Asylum and City, we wouldn't have gotten the TN-1 Bane at the end of Origins.

Question about the ending:[BLACKOUT] So Scarecrow reveals that Batman is Bruce Wayne. However, Batman captures Hush who looks and sounds exactly like Bruce Wayne. Why doesn't he just claim that the Batman which Scarecrow captured was Hush posing as Bruce? Throw in some faked security footage showing the real Batman elsewhere in town, and the real Bruce Wayne somewhere else. You've already got a situation where there are multiple Batmen running around (Arkham Knight, Man-Bat) so its wouldn't be hard for the public to swallow the idea that there was one more fake Batman.[/BLACKOUT]

1. Joker
2. Mr. Freeze
3. Bane in Origins
4. Scarecrow
5. Penguin
6. Riddler
7. deathstroke (Origins)

true. And he knew scarecrow wanted to unmask him, so he could have use a fake face, so that when the cowl was off, people wouldn't know it's bruce wayne. But that's not waht the creators wanted for their ending.

OK, to expand on what's said at that link, throughout the game, even before Bruce's unmasking, criminals can be heard talking about how Batman doesn't scare them anymore. How he is slow, and old etc. Bruce is getting diminishing returns from the symbol of The Batman. Gotham needs a new symbol. Bruce set up the Knightfall Protocol in case of this eventuality. Once he defeats his ultimate fear at the end (the fear of fear) and overcomes the hold Joker has over him, and once he is unmasked there is little reason to go through the trouble of hiding that Bruce Wayne is Batman. He can kill Bruce and Batman in one explosion and come back as something more terrible. Something almost supernatural and truly nightmarish. And since Bruce is considered dead and isn't being held back by his own fears he can be more than he ever could as Batman.

Is it strange that I actually enjoyed Joker a lot more in Knight when he was dead than in Asylum and City when he was alive?

He just seems far more menacing in Knight than he ever was in Asylum and City. Hamill absolutely nailed it in Knight.

Does anyone else feel this way?

I do. the writing is far better in knight than it was in asylum and city, so it's not surprising.

I loved how surprised I was when he came back, I'm still stuck on the second to last Batmobile attack with 40 enemies which requires a lot of patience on my part.

I also enjoyed him a lot more in Knight as well. In fact, Joker may be my favorite thing in Knight. People have fussed about Joker being overused, but I think the Titan/Joker/Batman arc that began in Asylum and continued in City and concluded in Knight was aces.

I think you're forgetting someone. The true villain of the Arkham games...

And numerous of riddle trophies in the Arkham series.

I wonder how Riddler would have done as a main villain in a main story of one of the games.

You know, it's worth it going after all the riddles to complete the game, because otherwise RIDDLER WON'T SHUT THE HELL UP!!!!!! Cripes, I can't galavant around the city, minding my own Batty business, for 3 minutes without this lunatic talking ****.

Add the Arkham Knight to the list. Arkham Knight should have had a combat fight.

How sad is that. In a game where we have the likes of Deathstroke, Firefly, Man Bat etc, and the Riddler was the only proper boss fight.

I agree. Yet I don't feel I wasted my money as the story and fighting is fun enough for me to make up for it.

Eddie was the only boss fight

There was kind of a boss fight with [BLACKOUT]Pyg[/BLACKOUT] but yeah, the lack of them was surprising. I was really hoping for an encounter with [BLACKOUT]Man Bat[/BLACKOUT] as scary and suspenseful as the Killer Croc sequence in Asylum.

Taking down Firefly and Man-Bat was fine but AK and Deathstroke definitely should have had combat boss fights!

Tell me about it. I kept trying to solve one Riddler puzzle and I kept messing up and he kept taunting me.

Riddler:*imitates buzzer* "You failed!"

I haven't captured him yet, but when I finally get to him I'm gonna enjoy beating the snot outta him.

I honestly think Riddler is my favorite part of these games. I would pay if he was the main bad guy story wise.
