Batman: Arkham Knight

I'd be very happy with them keeping the Batmobile, and removing battlemode. Doing that, and I'd just about pay them anything (again) to have the B89 Batmobile or Tumbler in-game for chase sequences and getting around the city.

Hopefully whatever iteration comes down, the batmobile will still be there. Just, not as important to combat is all. Removing battlemode would probably be a huge plus for most fans, I'd wager.

With that said, this is weird. I guess take everything with a grain of salt, right? Things sounded like it was almost guaranteed to be a Batman Beyond game with Damien and everything. That rumor was even pretty detailed, if I remember correctly. Seems like a 180 with this one now.

While I would love a sequel to Origins, that plot doesn't get me too excited.

[BLACKOUT]Another mass breakout? Joker being behind it all? Seems overly typical.[/BLACKOUT]

I don't think this is a real thing, if it was I'd be surprised.

I hope the rumors are true about a origins sequel. I love the Arkham games so much second favorite video game franchise behind only Zelda. Knight, city and origins are all in my top like 10 favorite video games of all time list. Aslyum is a great game to but way below the other 3. With how much more limited the combat is and how much smaller the word is and with no side missions it is kind of hard to play asylum after the other 3. I laugh when people say asylum is the best I don't know how any one could think that.

So I would love another akrham game and if the leak from the other day is true it sounds like it would be fixing and improving some of the problems that knight had. Duel play was a great new feature in knight but was underused and from the sound of things if this leak is true duel play would be getting expanded greatly. The batmobile while good in knight was over used and this leak it sounds like they would be doing more of how the batmobile should have been used in knight by making it more of a way to get around and to chase people instead of tank fights.

Shadow Of Mordor 2 has leaked. That could have been WB's March 8 announcement.

Could be, but the "save the date" font and all, looks so much like arkham.
Im not sure if the SOM 2 leak is real, i still remember that we had 2 star wars games "leaked" with packshots and even collectors edition pictures...turned out to be fanmade.

Its nowadays very easy to fake such news.

I dont want to get my hopes for a new arkham game high, but at the same time i do.
It will be interesting to see if and what will come out of it...i could live with SOM 2 too.

It could be but I heard something about SOM 2 may be shown tomorrow and if that happends then this is not the march 8th date and with how many rumors there have been about a origins sequel or about there being a game with batmans son I think there has got to be some sort of truth to it with all the rumors.

I finally started this game. Bought and DLed the Harley Quinn dlc and now it wont even work :(

I give that Reddit person credit if they're trolling. I'm reading their posts right now and they're putting in top effort and they sound convincing.

What's happening? Are you on XB1 or PS4?

Eh, I mean it kinda is what it is. I mean, it's the a typical Batman story setup. The setup for any Batman game could be typical, but if the execution is good it won't matter. Personally, I'd be happy enough if it all doesn't take place in a single night (again). Even stringing it out over a couple days, if not months, would be a welcome change over him having another Jack Bauer night.

I'm hopeful with WB Montreal's writers. They've cranked out the best pieces of storytelling in the Arkham games. Even the Batgirl DLC they did felt like a step up with the Arkham Knight storytelling and the rest of the other dlc.

They thing that's throwing me off is how radically different this is sounding from everything we've been hearing before. It sounded like a neo-Batman Beyond game was the direction. Either way, if this one is true or the neo-Batman Beyond game is true...someone sure has hell had alot of fun making **** up.

Because it was a much smaller and intimate story, and the environments add to the plot. AK was complete and utter trash, and easily the worst of the series.

Are 4 games in the Arkham franchise are really good but I think AK is the best and AS is easy the worst. I like the environment of AS but the game just fells so limited with its combat which is a big part of the arkhams game play and then having no side missions. AS has by far the least replay value of the Arkham games.

I absolutely love Asylum. It probably has the best atmosphere I ever experienced in a game - but overall City and Knight are superior. It has no side missions outside of Riddler/Amadeus Arkham, no other characters to play as unless you got Joker on PS3 (Or now RTA) It's combat is stiff and clunky and gliding isn't nearly as fun as it is in it's successors. The gameplay just lacks compared to City and Knight.

I'd say having the least amount of replay goes to AK. That game was one of the most tedious, boring, repetitive games I've ever played. AA may not have much replay going for it, outside of Riddler trophies/Challenge maps, but it is still leagues better than "Use the tank. Use the tank more. Use the tank again. Oh, remember the tank? Use it again." Not to mention, it is a franchise starter, and typically those are the testing waters for what is to come (provided they are successful.)

Seriously though. The tagline was "Be the Batman." However, it really should have been "Be the Bat...mobile, because that's what you'll be doing for 98% of the game."

I would say that Asylum is the best one in terms of the Look, because the asylum is so very well done in terms of design and atmosphere.
The story is also quite good imo, sadly the boss fights drag the game down a bit imo.
Replayability comes down to each person, i played the Asylum demo at least 100 times, the full game 30 times...while i finished knight one time.

City is overall the best imo when it comes to the big open world, the way the gameplay has been updated, the side missions, collectables, challenge maps etc.
The story is good, but imo it crumbles
with the inclusion of Talia, Ra's...and with the fact that strange is just a puppet and not the mastermind.

Origins is my personal favorite Arkham game because of the look, feel, the character design.
Storywise im always 50/50, it has its good moments but also its very weak moments.
I love the gameplay changes and updates, the new enemies, locations, the action packed cutscenes and set pieces, fantastic boss fights etc.

Knight...knight could have been it.
It could have been THE batman game, but sadly to me it fell apart very fast.
The over use of the batmobile broke the games neck...it was just too much.
I get why they did it and all, but it was just too much and took away from "being batman" itself.
Combat is the best combat system any game could have, it looks stunning and feels so huge.
But the game and the story wastes so much potential iimo.

Scarecrow could have given the whole game a dark and creepy feeling like asylum did, but he was barely there.
The Arkham Knight and his army are just there and pose no real danger, not in the narrative and the game.
And dont get me started on the joker part who just feels out of place imo...and the Jason Todd part had no real emotional build up since he was never really relevant before.
While some of the side missions are good, many of them felt to me so short and underdeveloped.

Personally i find enjoyment in all 4 of them, not one of them is considered by me a bad game or anything...but Origins is the one i liked the most.

PS4. Whenever i try to open Harleys game it just shuts down the game with an error.

You might need to uninstall everything and then re-install it all again. That's the only thing I can think of, honestly.

complete and utter trash? It was definitely a disappointment but I think those words are harsh. Makes it sound ike the game is a 3 out of 10 or something. I thought it was good and enjoyable at times but not a step in the right direction. It was just too ambitious and had too much going for it. AC was the best in terms of scope (which Origns matched to a degree). It just got overly complicated with AK in terms of controls, gadgets, map size, and of course the batmobile. I preferred a more simplistic approach. Asylum was good at the time but too scaled down. I thought City opened things up in a good way without going too over the top

The combat was good, but the tank was entirely too repetitive. Over 60% of the game is the tank. The story was crap as well, with a plot twist so blatantly obvious that even Daredevil could see it with absolute clarity. The villains were horribly utilized, with the two biggest offenders bring Scarecrow got the Hugo Strange treatment, and Two-Face was yet another stupid side mission. Then to top it all off, the game became all about Joker/Batman about halfway through. Again. Hell, even Conroy sounded completely bored throughout the whole thing. The whole reason I bought a next-gen system and I wound up hating it lol. I'd give it probably a 4/10, in all honesty. It had some good music, decent combat, and some nice ambience at parts, but it was an overstuffed mess, that the numerous delays really did nothing to fix what problems were already there.

Bummer. :( Shadow of War looks neat, but I wanted Batman. There's always SDCC...

Yeah, me too.
SOM was cool and the second might be even better...but damn, wbm works since 3 years on something...its time to show what.

I think I could do with a Batman game where the Joker isn't the villain for once.

Or give him the Two-Face treatment for once.

AK should have been that game. I obviously love Joker, but he was a drag on AK for me. Totally unnecessary inclusion in that game. Monologue after monologue in nearly every scene, sometimes even yapping in the background when another character is trying to speak. The whole finale revolved around him more than Scarecrow or Jason.

The only Joker tie in the game should have been the sick Jokers in the movie studio, and Harley trying to get them for herself.
