Batman|Bruce Wayne/Affleck is in Suicide Squad!

Batman being a dick to criminals? You don't say.

:hehe: It's almost as if he dresses like monster to scare them and beats the crap out of them.

Was Batman showing compassion or using the daughter as emotional leverage? If he really wanted to not beat Deadshot up in front of his daughter he could have trailed them till Deadshot dropped his daughter off and not get her involved at all. You say 'things naturally escalated' -- so Batman wouldn't have considered the possibility of a situation with an innocent present escalating badly?

So, Batman was being reckless or intentionally using the daughter. Either way he's a bit of a dick. Which I don't have a problem with here.

And risk losing him? Given that it took Waller's tip for him to find him, it seems that Deadshot was doing a good job escaping Bats so far.

Anyway, it's not impossible that he was using her as leverage to ensure Deadshot will surrender without fight, but it is also not out of the character to do so. So, I have no problem with him in that scene either.

No, I don't believe Bats was using her as emotional leverage.

Well, his primary goal was to restrain and bring Deadshot to justice. Sure, he didn't go out of his way to make sure the girl wasn't involved -- but the extension of mercy on his part was genuine, regardless.

..so Batman wouldn't have considered the possibility of a situation with an innocent present escalating badly?

That still doesn't make it a dick move. I hear what you're saying. Bats is probably driven by a stronger impulse to engage in combat, but I felt like he was at least trying to make a small effort to refrain from doing so this time in light of the situation.

So, Batman was being reckless or intentionally using the daughter.

I'm more inclined to agree with the former.

I took it Waller's tip as her alerting Batman to Deadshot being in the vicinity rather than him being on Batman's radar and eluding him all the while. But, yeah it felt in-character the way the scene played out. I'm reading it as calculated dickishness and it works for this Batman.

Then again this is the moron who decided that Superman needed to DIE because he maybe kind of sort of could potentially at some point in the future conceivably potentially become a threat, maybe. And who got played like a fiddle by Eisen-Luthor.

So yeah, the "world's greatest detective" who we know has tracking devices, cannot find Deadshot on his own. And the guy who's essentially a traumatized little boy in a man's body longing to have mommy and daddy back, is going to deliberately confront and then beat up a man in front of his young daughter.

Well I can buy it with THIS version of Batman I guess, he's kind of a psycho.

I wish Ayer never gave Batman a cameo in SS for some of you salty a** fanboys.

Batman is a psycho, for the most part without crossing that line. It's part of the reason why the Robins, Batgirls, Gordon, and Alfred sometimes have trouble accepting his methods all the way. The only one who wants him to go further is Jason Todd.

That's possible as well.

The way I see it, such dickishness works for most portrayals of the character.

You mean.. this isn't normal behavior?? :O :funny:

:hehe:

The "chase scene" was absolute ****. I hope we get an extended cut. The editing was awful! "Come on puddin, do it!" Do what???? What was she talking about? It felt like that line was while she already knew Batman was in pursuit.

actually, i think they were arguing in the car about him having to kill his partners because of her and joker said he was going to crash it into a wall just so he can be rid of her. i think that is when she says "do, it" and takes of her seat-belt. it's then that batman appears.

this is description in the novelization, Greens can verify if I remember his description well.

Okay, but we don't see that in the movie. So it's still a weird ass line.

i'm not disputing that. it's amazing how well this movie holds together, because it's clearly more then the sum of it's parts.

I need more flashback scenes with Bats and Jokes, esp Joker killing Jason.

Haven't been in this thread much... Has anyone commented that Batsy looks a bit chubby in this movie? Because he kinda does.....

Really? In the teaser he looked great, other than the botox. I'll agree that in photos of him outside of the set the last few months he's looked a bit chubby.

Ben never looked all that great out in public during BvS either, but obviously he looked phenomenal in the actual film.

I just hope he doesn't pull a Bale and get progressively worse with each outing.

A lot better than he does now.

He looked a little more relaxed this time out. He's never going to be great as either Bruce or Bats, but I'll be happy if he makes slight improvements with each outing.

Huh?

He was almost too big in scenes for Begins. Dropped weight and was sleek, purposely for TDK, and then got back up to a healthy medium between both sizes for Rises.

And looked naturally jacked in his scenes doing push-ups in the prison. Where as Affleck's musculature in BvS was hilariously and obviously accentuated by visual affects.

Well, besides that awkward af naked butt scene in the shower of the Ultimate Cut.

Your Bale hate is ridiculous. Especially when defending something so average at best in Affleck's performance or even aesthetic for Batman v Superman.

Man, that's the downside to mass weight training. Along with all the working out, you gotta eat tons and put on serious weight to turn the fat to muscle. But then the moment you stop working out for a few weeks, the muscle reverts back to fat again.
