I just hope that when we get our first look at the actor playing Batman in-costume, it's not another instance of that black-and-white, slumped-shoulders, mopey-looking ****. Give me something dynamic.

This was the first picture released of Bale as Batman.

Perfect!
I really hope they go back with an all Black costume.
And for the love of God and the Devil no more Cat ears.

And I still love it. Though I wouldn't mind something a little different this time around. Something like this...

Except with the light a little more centered on him.

With a little tweaking it could look pretty different from afflecks

Looks Asian in that cowl.

I like that the ears are longer. Affleck's cowl looks too much like the one he had in his Daredevil movie. Just black instead of red.

Thanks for the feedback guys :gngl: I was trying to see if he would benefit from a slender, sleeker looking cowl and (despite how bad my photoshoping skill was) I thought he looked good.

I was more than fine with Batfleck's shorter ears 'cause they'd never done it before, but I'd like to see the return of the more bat-like ears too.

I'm having that pic as my phone wallpaper :hmr:

A LOT of people saw TDK without seeing Batman Begins.

I def believe that. BB only grossed like 370 million while The Dark Knight grossed 1 billion. And it was a huge game changer for superhero films.

Gyllenhaal seems the best option. 5'11. Great acting talent. Is an A-lister (despite a lot of flops). Will be 37 soon but looks 30.

Hamm would have been good had he been Batman 5 years ago. Hammer seems way too tall and not the best of range for the role.

Throw Lee Pace in the mix there too. But I'm on Gyllenhaal train.

Considering Batman Begins made 374 million compared to The Dark Knights 1 billion, it's likely a lot of those people were newcomers to the series.

Yeah, it’s funny, I remember a lot of people not knowing TDK was a sequel.

While TDK is a better movie, I would say BB is a better Batman movie.

Not sure if he was mentioned (it's a lot of pages to go back through), but John Krasinski randomly popped in my head and the more I think about him the more I like the idea. And it wouldn't be the first time he took over a role from Affleck.

John Krasinski just feels so... bland to me. I've heard he's really good in that Benghazi movie but I refuse to every watch that propagandist trash.

I love the DC comic universe, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Green Lantern, etc. I’m excited about everything coming but when it comes to Batman I get extra excited because his corner of the DC universe is so fleshed out and rich in mythology. Batman, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Red Hood ( personal fav), Batman Beyond, and all the rest. We could potentially have all this happening in his movies and the connected films like Batgirl and Nightwing. In order to achieve this I do think we need a veteran Batman and I don’t think we need an A list actor to play the part. We don’t need a Affleck or a Clooney. Find a good actor that will commit to the role in the same way RDJ has to Iron Man. Someone that’s in for the long haul so we can avoid this type of Affleck situation again. Batman alone will put butts in seats at the theater. Look at Bale, he wasn’t a household name when cast but his movies were some of the top grossing movies ever. These are the guys I could see pulling off a good veteran Batman

Karl Urban
Michael Fassbender
Anson Mount ( lets just forget the inhumans, I’m sure marvel will)

If I’m to be honest, Urban is my favorite although the rumor of Hamm is appealing. If we can’t get the extended family in the movies though a really good animated series would be awesome that would capture all the lore and mythology of the Batverse

John krasinski also has a really goofy face imo, he looks like a pixar character.

Wasn't Tyler Hoechlin's name in the mix for the role before Affleck was announced? I dont know much about him, but I did see a clip where he did a decent job on the characterization of Clark Kent / Superman. Has he done anything other than TV that shows his acting range?
As I mentioned before, I like Hamm as a replacement for Affleck if that's the route they go. But if they're going younger, I like Gyllenhaal for his acting chops. Southpaw was one of my favorite movies in the past 5 years. And that's largely due to how good his performance was.

Wasn't a fan of Southpaw but he's great in it. He's like a cross between Rocky and B Rabbit from 8 Mile. Nightcrawler and Okja sold me for the Joker. I think his work with Villeneuve has me convinced the most for Batman. He'll just have to get into his Southpaw physique, somewhat.
