so far, i'm liking hamm, mounts, gosling, bana, fassbender, urban, and brolin ( brolin the least, but still miles better than bloom or bomer )
I'd be happy with any of those.

Wait did The Wolverine flop? I haven't been following.

Hopefully by the end of this Part 6 everyone can get off the Hamm-train. It's not going to happen. He finishes filming Mad Men season 7 in Jan-Feb, then starts filming Batman/Superman in Mar-Apr? No doubt Snyder would put him on the same Gym Jones schedule that Cavill was on. He can't be doing that whilst filming Mad Men. It's just not feasible.

Plus I don't know what people are seeing in him. There's no darkness in the character he plays on Mad Men. He is covering up repressed memories of embarrassment and emotional frailty. He is older than Christian Bale. Has no interest in these type of roles. Does not have the physicality of the role. Has never done action/fight training. The list goes on...

We have to dig deeper than 'Is he handsome?' and 'Can he act?' when considering these people.

For the record I love Jon Hamm. But I just don't see him as Batman material at all. Superman maybe.

Yeah, I think Hamm is a great actor but I don't see him as Batman. Lex or Maxwell Lord, definitely. But Batman requires something else (that I admittedly can't quite put my finger on). But whatever it is, I don't see it in him.

Hamm is always going to be my #1, but seeing as it won't happen (his schedule is busy in first half of 2014 and when can he work-out, get in the kind of shape Synder wants him in?), I think Gosling or Hamm would be good. Wish Bale would come back, but that shipped sailed when he turned them down (probably numerous times).

I wonder if Bruce Wayne is playing a role in this. If only Batman makes an appearance (possible, considering they're bringing back Lois, Ma Kent, Chief etc. and may not have time to show Bruce Wayne's world) it doesn't really matter who they cast, as his face won't be shown much. Although I guess its all about who can draw some box office appeal to the Batman character, hence the need for a big name. Maybe they should cast a big time professional athlete. He'll make the athleticism of Batman the real deal (an awfully unimpressive aspect of Bale's performance).

Because I think Brolin very very bad. This guy has the perfect face to be a villain. (like, the villain in Spiderman 2 or 1)

Hamm is my #1 for the role but I don't mind Bomer. I'd certainly take him over Brolin, Urban & Evans any day.

I'd also pick Gosling over Bomer too. I wonder what Gosling could bring to the role.

He has to be white because he's always been white and works fine the way he is. He's not an obscure character or one that's been lagging for years in need of a reboot, if it's not broke, don't fix it, Batman should remain white.

Audience fatigue. The audience feels like it's seen this movie 5 times before, can't say I blame them, EVERY X-Men movie with the exception of First Class has been Wolverine and Friends...and then there's the spinoff.

Much as I like Jackman, I wouldn't complain if they retired the character for a while, or at least did something different and exciting with him, like put him in his ACTUAL costume or something similar. THAT would be cool. This leathercoat and chops BS is for the birds. I'm tired of it.

In a post Avengers movie world, surely by now they can find a way to do his costume and make it acceptable. In all honesty, if they'd have done something like that in The Wolverine, I think it would be performing better. No lie. Sometimes it's really just as simple as that - even if it IS more of the same, it's visually different, and this fools the GA into thinking it's something they haven't seen before, so you get a new look and the audience thinks it's something new but the story is still familiar to them on a subconscious level and this makes them feel right at home and comfortable with the movie, giving them what they want but didn't know they wanted. t:
