Judging from your online habits, I bet you also persist in talking to people in real life who have no interest in listening to you. It sort of explains it. But by all means carry on. It's less horrifying on the internet than it would be in person.

I adore him in Star Trek. The one thing that stops me is his being a badass. I think I should get around to seeing Dredd...

Yep, you really should... it's very good, as is Urban - he'd make a great Batman.

From Rorschach2012's poll, here's how I would sort them.

Yes - Josh Brolin, Joe Manganiello, Luke Evans, Edgar Ramirez, Scott Adkins, Gerard Butler, Jeffrey Dean Morgan
No - Ryan Gosling, Karl Urban, Wes Bentley, Jake Gyllenhaal, Matt Bomer, Matthew Goode, Billy Crudup, Armie Hammer, Jim Caviezel, Lee Pace, Michael C Hall, Jensen Ackles, Ben Affleck, Bradley Cooper, Ian Somerhalder, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, David Giuntoli, Colin Farrell, Eric Bana, Garret Hedlund, Zachary Quinto
Maybe - Jon Hamm, Michael Fassbender, Anson Mount, Richard Armitage, Joel Kinnama, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Andrew Lincol, Richard Madden, Guy Pearce, Tyler Hoechlin, Chris Pine

In general, Yes to sort of rough looking/older guys, No to pretty boys.

See... this is the thing.

People seem to forget that Bruce Wayne is a Billionaire Playboy and is supposed to be a "classically" good looking guy, not rugged and hard looking.

So someone like Wes Bentley, Ryan Gosling, or anyone you put in your "no" category is not a bad choice because of their looks. They would be a bad choice bases on whether or not they can pull off the different aspect of the Bruce Wayne/Batman character. And most of them would be to, IMO. Or at least, the most important aspects.

I really like how that drawing differentiates Bruce and Clark. I've never been a big fan of them being drawn as doppelgangers. In contrast, although highly stylized, I think their respective facial features in that image really captures their different personalities. Bruce's sharper nose and features look more brooding and gothic and patrician, whereas Clark looks wholesome and rugged. Moreover, I like the idea of Bats looking more slim and agile in comparison to Clark's brickhouse strapping farmboy build.

Both Armitage and Bentley conform to that mold in spades.

Just to be visually interesting I would like for the Batman actor to look different from Cavill, you know darker but I agree that if a so called pretty boy can pull the role off then he is welcome to play the character. I want the best guy for the. role.

Paul Rudd. :o
People are going to call me crazy but...I wouldn't be opposed to the idea. *ducks*

Bentley's eyes are a little too crazy, though. He can't help it, but I wouldn't be at all surprised that his fictional counterpart is a little off the rocker.

Armitages' is more subdued, but sunken in, the eerie blue color providing an almost transparent effect.

It's all superficial I know, and Bentley's more of the ideal age.

But Richard almost has a throaty growl as he talks with his normal speaking voice. Its crying to be used to it's maximum potential.

I will cry if any of these get cast.

I don't get the "crazy eyes" comment to be honest. Just because you perceive someone to have that kind of look doesn't mean he/she is crazy anyhow.

Richard does have one hell of a growl though. He also has plenty of experience in action roles, which makes him a very good candidate for the time being.

How the **** does anyone want Adkins?!! Not why but how. Seriously, nobody learned from Arnold being cast as Mr. Freeze? Seriously?

He really is the Keaton-esque choice. :awesome:

[BLACKOUT]There's a naughty picture I wanted to post, but I don't know if it's infraction worthy.[/BLACKOUT]

But yeah, I'm more of a Fassbender kind of girl, but I wouldn't be opposed to Armitage, Crudup, Goode, or Bentley at this point.

Unlike Keaton he is classically very good looking. That smile and those eyes. *swoon*

Solid choices, oh mischievous one. Goode isn't very good though.

To this day, I still haven't watched that film in its entirety. I probably never will. Aren't you proud of me?

If you're going to give Rudd a look, you might as well take a look at Eion Bailey. I think he deserves a hero role.

Agreed. :atp: But back off he's mine. :p
I'd give up a million Paul Rudd's if I could just touch Henry Cavill once.

I kinda love Batman and Robin. It's terrible and campy as crap but it's a good watch. I do not want Superman/Batman to be terrible and. campy though so no cheesy action guys for Batman.

From all the "realistic" choices, Wes Bentley seems to be one step ahead just because of Nolan's recommendation. So i guess we are on a good-y path.

Like the great Bob Ross would say : We don't make mistakes, we just have happy accidents. No pressure !

Try and watch it as a throwback to the tv show, then it will become much more enjoyable. Also it has one really great scene between Alfred and Bruce. It's a joke but its cute. To me more harm did Batman Returns than Batman & Robin. If Tim Burton continued from the crime/goth Batman 89 and he didn't make that freakshow of a movie the studio wouldn't have *****ed and everything would be cool for at least one more film.
