I'm still all for Hamm, but that gif of Armitage's eyes convinced me. I already thought he was a good actor, and he looks like Bruce, but his nose bothered me. I'm past it though and would be happy if he's cast. We could do a lot worse

hamm still my A number one. richard is my 2.

From all the "realistic" choices, Wes Bentley seems to be one step ahead just because of Nolan's recommendation. So i guess we are on a good-y path.

Like the great Bob Ross would say : We don't make mistakes, we just have happy accidents. No pressure !
There has been absolutely nothing official yet, each and everything "reported" so far has been speculation and in an echo chamber people can end up believing it. All of these rumors "reported" like Brolin is front-runner, Bloom is front-runner, WB desperately wants Bale back, they offered him 50 million, they offered him 60 million, Wes Bentley recommended by Nolan are all without the slightest verification.

We are better off not believing them at all.

I really like Chris Pine for this...but that was shot down.

See... this is the thing.

People seem to forget that Bruce Wayne is a Billionaire Playboy and is supposed to be a "classically" good looking guy, not rugged and hard looking.

So someone like Wes Bentley, Ryan Gosling, or anyone you put in your "no" category is not a bad choice because of their looks. They would be a bad choice bases on whether or not they can pull off the different aspect of the Bruce Wayne/Batman character. And most of them would be to, IMO. Or at least, the most important aspects.
I understand that. And that played into my choices. It just sort of shook out the way it did that all pretty guys went into the no bracket. Like Gosling, even if I thought he had the right look, I can't stand him because of how smarmy and off-putting he comes across in all his roles. It seems to me he's posing more than he's acting.

He might not be avilable even if they wanted him. He's already the face of a big franchise and they are coming out with their third part in 2015, when this film is coming out. So he ain't free to shoot for both.

2016 is when Star Trek 3 is coming out, but what would you think of him as Batman?

Are you sure about the date? Because the date being 2015 is the reason I read that Abrams was giving up the director's chair as it would clash with Star Wars.

But Pine should be tried. I think he could do it and has a very personable and engaging screen presence.

Yup. 2016 has been the target date because it's the 50th anniversary of Trek. I too think he'd do a good job.

If that's the case then Abrams should definitely return.

I think that Star Trek Into Darkness was by far the best big budget blockbuster this summer followed by Pacific Rim. The 3 superhero films so far were kinda weak.

Warner Bros do you want to make a ton of money Karl Urban is your man he is extremely popular on youtube he is extremely popular on every website take Karl Urban and you will make a ton of money.

Yeah. He did two movies as a leading man - Pathfinder and Dredd and both just rolled in money.

Acting it's really important Karl Urban knows how to act and he knows how to play the tough guy. Your're only looking for a meathead.

I'm seriously laughing at news outlets reporting that stupid CBN article.

They said Tyler Hoechlin was under consideration. ..now all of a sudden WB suddenly change their minds for older actors? They must've had the idea at the start.

It's why I don't believe that.

Do I believe Bentley was suggested by Nolan? It's a possibility. Good publicity as well if he has tge guy who plays Batman in his new film.

We all know Jake G. was Goyer's favourite.

But I can't see either of them getting the role, because they just aren't right.

Abrams is NOT coming back for ST3.

I took me awhile to realize he was the kid from Road to Perdition. I thought he did a great job in that though granted that was 10 years ago. I haven't seen his work lately but I wouldn't necessarily judge his acting on the writing of Teen Wolf.

He's got a cool look although he's a little young.

There's a lot of indecisiveness in this post.
