Batman Inc

As for Batman Inc., since it sounds like Morrison's team of Batmen isn't going to be made up of people in Batman costumes, but rather Batman-inspired heroes like Knight & Squire now with more direct backing from Bruce, I don't see the problem. Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on that detail.

Yeah, that's what I thought as well, I haven't actually heard any confirmation that there will be more than one (or two I guess) Batmen.

This also allows for Dick to be his own Batman, without being held back by the expectations of fans who want to see stories more appropriate for Bruce than for Dick. You get both! Win.

^ You win the internet.

See, this is why I get angry when people bash Morrison and act like he's destroying the Batuniverse or whatever: I remember when RIP was out, people were *****ing and moaning about how it wasn't gritty enough or not "Batman enough", when last time I checked, Paul Dini was writing stories in Detective that practically catered towards them. Similarly theres also been variety whilst Dick has been Batman, and there will be even more once Bruce comes back since Scott Snyder and Peter Tomasi will be also joining the fray.

As I said before, Morrison isn't imposing himself on other writers and the other Bat-titles, so...what's the problem exactly?

My subscription to Batman and Robin should be over when this comes out. I'll subscribe to it. I don't mind the idea of Batman forming a league of Batmen. Most future stories (with Batman) share a similar concept. It's definitely not the first time Batman recruited soldiers for his war (Robin & Gordon). He's just getting a bigger army is all. I also like the art I've seen with this title so far.

As I said before, no, that didn't happen. It was just a fan theory.

To be perfectly honest and at the risk of sounding like a jerk, I find it stupid to not pick up a comic run just because a fan has a theory about it that doesn't sit well with you. If it actually happened, fine, but geez....

I didn't stop reading it because of a fan theory. I stopped reading when DC began confirming Bruce was getting killed. I only asked if that had happened because I was curious. I check these forums to see if anything sounds appealing to me and would make me want to buy one of the issues.

so is this Batman League going to be a bunch of people dressed as Batman or just people he's inspired/trained like the Club of Heroes? how many "Batmen" are there gonna be, Bruce and Dick?

How should we know? I can only guess that there will be many batmen. Either people that are already inspired by him (like the Club of Heroes) or people that he will train into Batmen. For example in the annual issues of Batman and Detective Bruce and Dick are in Paris to recruit someone.

Ah, I loved No Man's Land. Wish it had lasted longer; great concept. Perfect story for Gotham.

As for both Dick and Bruce being Batman, that's pretty much what I was hoping to see. I have no idea if it's going to work out as well as it does for The Flash or Green Lantern, but how cool would it be if it did work out? Maybe they only mean for it to be a temporary arrangement, or maybe they're testing the water to see if it can stand in the long term, but either way I applaud them for taking the chance.

This post is full of win.

Is it me or the "INC suit" is a cool version of the Clooney/Kilmer suits?

From all the pictures of it so far, it's not a cool version of anything. The codpiece is silly, the piping doesn't really work, and the gloves/boots are pointlessly over-detailed.

I really, really like the new costume. Could be better, but I think it's good.

I've been wanting a costume without the black undies on the outside again, but now that I see this Batman, Inc. one I just get a little depressed. The gloves kind of drive me nuts and a codpiece?! C'mon really?

From everything I've read in this thread it seems like most people are polarized by Morrison's work on Batman, love him or hate him. I've loved Batman since I was knee high to a duck and the idea of anyone but Bruce Wayne in the suit angered me initially (That being said I still loved Batman Beyond as a kid). But as I read on and gave it all a chance, I loved it. When I found out that Nightwing and Robin were both being cancelled I flipped. I know loads of people hate Robin and are 'meh' about Nightwing, but I loved Tim and Grayson in their respective roles. Now that Dick is Batman and Tim is Red Robin, I am satisfied once again. Morrison is doing what most writers have been afraid to do, changing some **** up in the Bat-world. I love Batman as a character and I will follow him wherever he goes...as long as I have a paycheck. Ninja Man-Bats, Damian, Knight and Squire. I love one poster's argument that all these aspects are "dumb." I'm not sure why they are dumb, but if they are, I love me some dumb. Damian is a hilariously awesome and badass character while Ninja Man-Bats was just an insane fight in Batman and Son. Knight and Squire? Batman: The Black Glove was amazing and I loved their parts in it and the parts they've played in all of this Batman Reborn stuff.

Oh and Rucka's Batwoman run was...epic. Seriously amazing.

^ Yeah, honestly, the past 3 years or so have been a new golden age for Batman books, with Morrison, Dini and Rucka all contributing greatness in their own ways. Hell, with The Dark Knight, Batman Brave and the Bold, the Batman Arkham Asylum video game and the Batman Under The Red Hood dtv, it's just been a great time to be a Batman fan, it seems like there's something that appeals to everyone.

It's a damn shame that some people just can't embrace the variety and instead cling onto one strict direction for the character, and I don't mean that in a condescending, insulting way, just making an observation. Ah well.

I think that the "piping" and the details on the gloves and the boots are all taken from the Arkham Asylum suit...

Which isn't too great either. The rivets? Ugh. Great game though.

The problem I find with new costumes is most times the artists never draw it the same. Just look at Kubert's drawing of the same costume. Blue stripes, highly detailed gloves and no codpiece? He seems to be the odd man out. Sooner or later they go back to the original because it's simplified and everyone is on board (for the most part).
