Could WB Animation/DC Studios be working on a multi-part adaptation of Batman: Knightfall?

Batman: Knightfall, Part 1 is now live on the EIDR Register. I would say this pretty much confirms the movie is indeed real? No sign of Part 2 just yet.

Jeff Wamester acknowledges that he has been working as a director of DTV's at WB Animation on his LinkedIn. Specifically as a director on an ''Unannounced Project'' since January 2024.

Given the timing, I would say this give credence to the DTV line continuing under Gunn/Safran. DC Universe Movies as we knew it is over, but stand alone projects/ELSEWORDS pitches may be greenlit if the team feels they have merit?

Putting this here for a possible announcement down the road.

I really think this is a storyline that is going to benefit from an animated adaptstion.

PT 1 - Vengeance of Bane & Knightfall
PT 2 - Knight’s Quest & Knight’s End

Mh... We'll see.
I'd only be truly interested in this if they go full 90s with the art direction.
Just embrace the edginess of it. Make it look like X-Men TAS.

One of the biggest draw backs for me with the Long Halloween animated movie is the generic art style instead of trying to capture the Tim Sale style..

I don't think Knightfall is known for the art style necessarily as much as Long Halloween or Hush, or TKDR, because it was the art style of the comics at the time as opposed to a distinct art style of a superstar artist like a Tim Sale or Jim Lee or Frank Miller. But I think these movies should be more self-contained and unique from one another, as opposed to a house style.

Oh hell yes! Hope it has a total 90s vibe. Low expectations given their recent track record, but this is an iconic story that would benefit from the slimmed down format an animated movie or two would provide.

Finally! Been waiting for this for so long. Really hope they take inspiration from the original art style

I wish we would’ve gotten a Knightfall adaptation in the DCAU. Bane never got a fair shake in the DCAU. IIRC Timm wasn’t a big fan of the character? I could be wrong

I think they just need to stick to the broad strokes in terms of story; but I agree it’d be great to see an animation style inspired by the comic art

Anson Mount - Batman/Bruce Wayne?
Pablo Schreiber - Azarel or Bane?

I would hope Pablo Schreiber is Azrael; I was already fantcasting Esai Morales as Bane in my head .

I hope they don't make the same mistake that ****ty Injustice movie did and try to adapt the entire run in one movie. It should be a multi film arc, with the first movie ending with Batman getting his back broken.

I’m really excited about the idea of this but if they don’t try to mimic the art style of the original, it will deflate my excitement to almost nothing

Didn't many artists work on this run though? I guess when I think KNIGHTFALL, I think Kelly Jones (Covers) and Jim Aparo, but is Aparo's art iconic enough to this story to try adapting it to animation?

I can see them just doing their own thing again with this one.

I'm really looking forward to this. And it's supposed to be the start of a new overall animated universe, which would definitely be refreshing. I hope the art style is more similar to The Animated Series'. I don't necessarily want anything too stylized, personally; sometimes, less is more.

I miss the DTVs that didn't take place in an "animated universe".

We’re still getting them with Watchmen and Doom That Came to Gotham; but I do agree it was more interesting when a sequel was the exception not the rule.

For animation style, I’d love to move away from the last two universes’ aesthetic. I didn’t watch Injustice but that didn’t look amazing to me (in terms of the visuals; the story’s never been for me). Give me something simple like YJ or the earlier DTVs like WW or Red Son.

I've wanted to see an animated Knightfall movie for a long time. I hope they don't screw it up as much as they did Hush.

This still happening?

Seemingly so... What form it will take is still a mystery. All we know so far (All rumors):

- Animated two-parter or trilogy.
- Directed by Jeff Wamester.
- Starring Anson Mount and Pablo Schreiber.
- Seems legit due to a posting for Batman: Knightfall - Part 1 on EIDR.

We'll just have to wait and see what comes of it, but it seems like something Gunn/Safran has indeed greenlit.

I was hoping there'd be a sneak peak with Watchmen Pt II.
