why would he offer him a job at wayne industries? you mean like a cover job so people won't suspect him of being robin? what about college? maybe he's offering him a full scholarship to the school of his choice, like he did for baby helena.

Well, Tim just can't dedicate his life to being a vigilante. I'm sure he's going to want to do something else with his life?

in real life that would probably be true, but when have you seen a superhero give up to lead a normal life, especially one as young and competent as tim? and yes, i realize tim did that briefly because his dad asked him to, but later returned to the role. i could see if he was towards the end of his career, but not now.

The issue of college brings up an interesting thought. Bruce never went to college; he studied just about everything under various experts until he achieved a doctorate-level understanding of most subjects. Maybe he'll offer Tim the same thing. A kind of apprenticeship or something, where Bruce finally just teaches him literally everything he knows. Tim is clearly the best heir to Bruce's title as world's greatest detective, if nothing else. Maybe Bruce thinks college would be a waste of time for Tim, who's already learned to be better at most things on his own than most professionals, and he wants to really challenge Tim by teaching him personally.

I think that it probably is going to be the adoption angle again. Although it's been done already, dc will probably want to bring it up again only to make the next arc more interesting. Clearly you see it's Batman and Robin fighting his son on the cover, so having tim considering becoming bruce's son while fighting bruce's real son only makes for better reading and adds another emotional dimension to the fight.
That would be pretty much the opposite of interesting for the next arc. The subtext of all of the Robins being like Batman's "son" (legally in the case of all but Tim, in fact) has been in place for just shy of forever. No need to beat us over the head with it by rehashing a plot that was already done--and done quite well,to boot.

I don't want it to happen, but I really fear that it will be the adoption angle yet again. Hopefully not, though.

Sorry to go off topic but I do not read Catwoman and that is possibly where this was straightened out but...what is going on with baby Helena now? Was Bruce the father? If not, who?

It's still unknown who the father is. Expect to find out for sure soon, though.

they're stringing us along about who the father is. i've got my hunches, but it's all speculation at this point. i think they're supposed to say within the next couple of months, though.

I think it'll be Slam, myself. Or maybe his son. Which would be kind of creepy.

i agree with this entire post.

anyone notice robins face on the cover of Batman #654?
particularly the left side of it?

it looks a little effed up, but the picture i looked at was too small to see it with enough detail to actually judge if it's just the way it's drawn or actually something wrong with his face.

that artist is pretty clean though... it looks like "twoface" effed up...

yeah, it kinda does, but i can't tell from the picture i saw. do you have a good sized one?

all i have to go by is the one on the DC comics site...

yeah, that's the one i saw, but it's not big enough to see his face up close.

hmmmm ill look elsewhere see what i can dig up... its too big a coinicidence if you ask me though...

mmm not really, i think the artist messed up or thats just how he drew it. some of his covers dont really look that great.

yeah, it just looks like his mask and the shadows on his face, to me. thanks, gah.

i think it looks less like twoface now... but its still debatable... thanks GAH!

Heh. It looks like Robin has a Joker smile on his face on that cover. Talk about some sick ass irony.

spoilers maybe...????
in the latest issue of robin, the DC Nation page thing at the back, the preview for the next issue says...
"Tim adjusts to life as Bruce Wayne's son in stately Wayne Manor..."

so i'm guessing the new Batman and Son arc is about Bruce and Tim....?
and the plan bruce had for tim was adoption?
