I have watched the film I just dont remember ever hearing that it was his 30th birth day.

I just watched the film [mostly in fast faward] and I still see nothing that proves that it was his 30th birthday.

While I'll admit that it makes a bit of common sence that he's 30 in the film theres nothing that I can see in the film that rules oth that he could have been 27 or a bit less.

And speaking of common sence theres very little of it when it comes to the relative age of some of the characters in the film.

At least to me it seemed that the film was taking place in modern times, 2005 more or less, which if Bruce was 30 means his parents were killed in 1983.

And I'm guessing that Bruce's father was no more the 35 [or 40] when he dies.

Now if thats the case then we have a paradox here.

Alfred told Bruce that his father tried to help out durring the Depression and if he was talking about the "Great Depression" T.Wayne wasnt even born yet.

Now there have been other times in American history when we had Depression like conditions but I'm not sure if the early 80's can be counted among them.

But I was only 9 in 1980 so I cant be sure.

That wasn't really Bruce's birthday party. Thomas Wayne had an illegitimate son they keep in the basement (he's never seen at all in BB), but will be a major plot point in TDK.

Yeah, the Great Depression in the film is a fictional one that is confined to Gotham lol not the real one in like the 30's : P

And if thats the case then Gotham's "Depression" must have lasted more then a decade.If Bruce was 30 in Begins his parents must have been killed in 1983.

The "so called Depression" must have already been going on for some time before that and the scene where "Kate Holmes" was driving around Bruce must have taken place in 1998 since he went missing just afterwards and they said he was missing for 7 years.

So "Gotham's Depression" had to last at the very least 15 years if not more.
