Batman R.I.P.

think that's when azrael shows up, since its a recap of bruce's life.

When does that tie-in come out?

Right after R.I.P. concludes. To be more specific both issues that make up that story are supposed to drop in november two weeks away from each other.

Okay cool. I think I'm starting to work this out in my head now. :) Thanks for helpin' me out.

No prob :brucebat: DC as well as Morrison himself are pretty loopy so I could see how it could be overwhelming.

Morrison said RIP takes place before Final Crisis, which means Bruce is still Bats after RIP.

Yeah but will he be the Batman of Zurr err arrhh (spelling) or Bruce-Batman? :) That is the question!

Am I the only one worried about the possible consequences of this storyline? Unlike The Flash or GL, Batman can't be anyone but Bruce Wayne. IMO, at least.

No you're not the only one. But I don't think you should be too worried. It would be insane to cut Bruce out forever. He'll be back.

i bet he quits, or goes nuts, after FC, then we'll have battle for the cowl, or he could stay ZEA, and dick would be regular bats.

I'm not into this R.I.P. crap at all. It's a lame stunt. No offense to those who like it, but it's not for me.

Just a stunt. They seemed to be doing so good at cleaning up Bruce/Batman when they brought on Morrison and Adam Kubert then Daniels, then it turned to this muddled garbage. And Daniels beautiful art is being wasted on this story he should be doing Detective Comics where the good stories are thanks to the talented Paul Dini.
And this thing's not really running into the other books, I wasted money on Nightwing to see it had nothing to do with RIP just a quick mention.

They better not take Bruce away in any way, they did that already it was called Knightfall! I don't need that again. Hopefully this'll just be Bruce coming out of this a clearer Batman, of mind and spirit and so on.

Batman's had some crap stories the last few years I stayed away till the Red Hood crap was over then started collecting again. I'm just glad Detective hasn't really been affected by this storyline, just the Hush story with a mention of the Black Glove, so at least there I can enjoy a good Batman story without the stunt B.S. .

I mean seriously just write a good story don't come up with this moronic stuff trying to just make money out of curiosity to see what RIP stands for and all that.
Get attention by writing something good. Like Dini.

And that Zur en arh suit is such a joke, can they just come up with something to erase this and the Red Hood Jason Todd thing.

They really have done some stupid wreckage to the Bat mythos that in my mind just did not happen such as Jason coming back from the dead, yeesh, and this RIP crap, and Leslie Tompkins killing. Such a waste.
Batman's going through such a good time right now with The Dark Knight and as I said and cannot say enough, the great writing of Dini, they don't need this story stunt as a dark mark against him.

I'm with you spider-bat. I don't feel like anything is happening while reading it where as the Captain America story line I feel like I am actually reading history of the character being unfolded.

I agree too Spider Bat, I'm fed up with writers being obsessed with doing "The biggest thing yet" with Batman. Why can't they do somethingl ike matt Wagner and write some great, deep stories that fill in the gaps of the Batman mythos while not pushing batman to his limit for the umpteenth time?

...And Daniels beautiful art is being wasted on this story he should be doing...

I think Daniels' art is what's ruining this story arc for me. Honestly, he's a Jim Lee wannabe with maybe an 8th of Lee's storytelling abilities, which isn't saying much since Lee's no Will Eisner for sure. R.I.P. needed JH Williams III, Frank Quitely, or someone of their caliber to make Morrison's story work. How Daniels got the gig I'll never know.

Superheroes have been dying for decades. This is no different. More like The Death of Superman really though,

Amen!

I think the Death of Captain America has been my favorite hero death, and it looks like they won't bring Steve Rodgers back which is good. It is also cool to see Bucky in the shadow of Caps and making his own place as his own Captain America.

pretty much agree with everything you said (though apparently someone didnt like dr thompkins as a killer and that has since been changed).

I often hear mention that all possible batman stories have already been told, frankly i feel thats bull and hope they stop with these "events" and focus on telling tight focused stories instead of going back into the characters history and turning a small nugget of his past into the focal point of the entire series....

The bat books have hundreds of characters with whom they can tell great new stories. Bane became a joke after knightfall because most writers felt he was a character created for the sole purpose of the knightfall stunt, well how about someone take the character and write a good story and reestablish the character.....

You might not care but since you mention bane, I am writing and drawing a comic with Bane and Black Mask as the feature villains.

Id be interested in seeing what you do with the character.....im one of the people who believes that Bane would fit into the Nolan-verse....

Well the link in my deviant art is where you can see it. I will say this though I can assure you things aren't what they seem and I am going to stay very loyal to the original type of character Bane is.
