Batman, the most unbelivable superhero in all of comics!

They write him like a COMIC BOOK CHARACTER. He does crazy things because he is a COMIC BOOK CHARACTER. Comic book readers refusing to quit crying about a fantastical character doing fantastical things is messed.

You souldn't lump all comic book characters. They say that he's not supposed to have powers. They write him as if he has powers. That's rather lazy writing.

No, it's imaginative writing. They have a normal man doing abnormal things because it makes for a dramatic, exciting story. That's the whole f***ing point of comic books, to do things that cannot happen in real life.

That's a pretty stupid argument, and reflects poorly on your intelligence. I'm giving you a friendly warning right now, if you pursue that, you'll look pretty dumb.

Could you elaborate further?

I want to understand your line of thought here.

Yet, they say he's a normal human. If they want him doing superhuman theings, they should say he's a superhuman. You don't create perameters for a fictional universe and then go back on them like that. It's lazy writing.

It's stupid to assume that the reason that everyone in the public eye loves Batman is the same reason everyone in the public eye doesn't like Batman. People see Batman as that out-there guy that has and does everything they wish they could do, they see Batman as the guy who b****-slaps Superman. And they love it.

IT IS A COMIC BOOK.

since when has realism ever been a requirement in comics?

It's not lazy writing if you understand the amazingly simple concept that seems to be escaping your grasp: it's a f***ing comic book. The whole point is to have crazy, unbelievable crap. Jesus Christ, why is that so hard to understand.

When the character in question isn't supposed to have powers.

That's not the point. The point is to tell a story. It can be a true story, a fictional story, a western, a crime drama, sci fi, fantasy, whatever. "It's a ****ing comic book" doesn't excuse lazy writing. Batman isn't supposed to have powers. The writers always say that he's only supposed to be a human being with training and weapons. And yet they write him as if he had powers with no explanation given.

Ever since The Question decided comics should suddenly follow rules they've never followed before.

I 100% agree with Question on this one, just because it's a comic book doesn't excuse writers breaking the laws of their own universe. Same goes for movies, tv, books etc.

Do you people not understand that the point of comics is to feature events that couldn't happen in real life? That is the POINT? God, I didn't realize comics were so hard to understand.

The point of comics is to feature events that couldn't happen in real life? God, this place is full of ****ing idiots.

Batman being superhuman is not the problem here. It's that writers first say he is an ordinary human with lots of training and weapons, then write him doing superhuman things. They are breaking the laws of their own fictional universe. It's just bad writing.

I wouldn't say ALL comics, but most. Especially superhero comics. They are, after all, fantasy.

Batman sure as Hell qualifies, but I would say, yes, all comics. Super-hero comics, obviously, but pretty much all comics show things that wouldn't happen in real life, unless it's a true story, but even those often have artistic license taken. Romance, horror, fantasy, Western, crime drama, noir, it all has stuff that wouldn't happen in real life.

You were calling me and Idiot? I heard you, but I don't think Idiot did. I think he has his cell phone turned off, try calling his house.

I'll agree SOMETIMES Batman is taken a little too far even for comics, but I don't think it's that often.

Ahhh, no. Not at all. Saying something wouldn't happen in real life is basically saying that it's impossible or extremely unlikely. Literally thousands of comics have storys that are entirely possible to happen in real life. Have you ever read any Will Eisner?

Ah, you caught me on the typo. Congrats

i love how people fight over typos
it helps your argument, doesn't it?

Most stories invovle aspects that are fantastical. Back to the point: Batman is a comic book story about a super-hero. When a dude hangs out in a world where men fly around, you can him to do crazy stuff. Duh.

Ah, you caught me on the typo. Congrats
You don't need to congratulate me, it was easy. You're an idiot, afterall.

You forgot to capitalize a few letters there, and you forgot a period.

You can him to do crazy stuff, Duh? Yeah, calling me an idiot after that really works out well.

I'm done arguing this because you're such a thick headed moron. Enjoy your crappy writing.

Stop giving up so easily, you're good for at least another page or two.

Marry me.
