The Dark Knight Batman VS Joker: The final Battle

I really think it could work. Something dialogue heavy and filled with lots of snappy banter between Joker. Batman and Gordon. It would be interesting to see because even though The Joker is essentially helpless he's the kind of guy who could talk you into killing yourself given half the chance.
Please watch this as an example of what I'm talking about:

Oh, unless you don't want this particular movie spoiled. But basically the way John Doe goads Mills is exactly what I'm talking about here.

No, don't see anything like that in this one, either. Only panel that comes close is when Joker gets the upper hand by throwing ink in Ryder's eyes. Ryder regains the advantage by transforming into The Creeper, and he then knocks Joker out with one blow.

Isn't there something right after that where he's like, choking Ryder and he can't break free because of his "maniacal strength" or something along those lines?

what if the final battle was in chemical plant and the joker is about to beat Batman to death with a bar. Batman knocks him away and he falls into a batch of chemicals and at the end Gordon and Batman are talking about not being able to find Harvey and the police not finding the Joker's body. making it a mystery on whether Joker survives or not.

That could be really interesting...

Kind of a cool idea, but doubtful given its similarities to B89 don't you think.

yeah but Joker's alway fell in a batch of chemicals so... not like B89 more comics. lol

Yeah I know what you're getting at, but I just think they are not going to want to do anything with the Joker where people who aren't informed have room to draw similarities between TDK and B89. I am aware that its also an occurence in the comics.

Yeah, i think they're going with the first appearances were he had no origin and if you think about it Joker is such a mysterious character that he could have any origin.

its not an occurence, its his origin. and personally im hoping for a different take on him in this movie. everyone out there has somthing negative to say for EVERY comic based movie.
in my honest opion, i just see the film makers as comic artists, this is just THEIR take on the heros, who cares if it doesnt follow the comics exactly. if they did then we would all know what was going to happen anyways, whats the fun with that?
just remember if a film maker changes the way a heros story works in the movies, you can always go back and read the comics so its not like their stories are permantly changed forever.

Yeah that's kinda what I was getting at. Not that the chemical vat thing wouldn't work. I kinda like the fact that Joker probably won't have an origin. I like it when characters are just as they are from the start of the movie.

I doubt they would have him fall into a "chemical bath." There already is a HUGE similarity between B89 and TDK to me. And as cool as it is, I can't help but draw the distinction -

I'm sure everyone will remember...

At the end of B89 - The Joker is standing in front of his float at the parade, gas has gone everywhere, and incomes the Batwing from a far. The Joker says "come to me you gruesome son of a *****, come on hit me!" (Or something similar to that, and Batman fires.) He misses of course and The Joker pulls out a huge gun and fires at Batman causing him to crash on the cathedral steps behind him.

The scene from TDK (which we have only seen a small small clip of) - The Joker walking down the street eratically with machine gun in hand firing at Batman, screaming at him "Come on, hit me!" Batman misses of course and crashes in the street right behind him.

Thats semantics. You know what I meant, that it happened in the comics to make him Joker.

I'm glad you brought that up. I'm not saying you're wrong, but with the way that street scene is cut in the trailer how do we know Batman is not standing right in front of Joker when he says," Come on hit me". What you said is probably right, but I was just wondering if anyone else thinks thats a possibility. I mean yeah it is cut to where it looks as though he says it to the batpod speeding towards him, but we don't really know for sure.

Yes, it's been noticed, and there was a big whoopdidoo about product placement when it was. Not that odd to me. I mean, why can't Gotham have a Starbucks? If it is indeed product placement, then it's extremely subtle product placement, because I never would have noticed it had someone here not pointed it out. But I wouldn't be surprised if it's just coincidental and there happened to be a Starbucks in the area they were filming at. :oldrazz:

wasnt there a macdonalds in schumachers gotham in Forever?

When it comes to trailers, it's always a possibility that things are cut and spliced in certain ways.

Indeed. In fact, I think I would like the scene better if Batman and Joker were standing face to face when he delivers that line.

I fully agree Crush.

I fully agree Crush.

thanks socko, nice to see someone that does. all i ever hear is people comnplainging about stuff like that. but if they actually stopped to think about it, the comics change things and go down different routes all the time.

Yeah I can see that. It's just like an artists style. No matter how he changes things, it's still Batman.

Thanks for agreeing with me. Always nice to be Mr. Popular.

For one thing, this is most likely not the final scene (in case you weren't aware) mostly because they wouldn't give away the climax in the first real trailer (and I hope they don't in the other, either - at least not blatantly).

I figured out how the shots from that scene play out in continuity in Point 5 in my analysis below; in my sig.

I don't believe that scene is the final scene at all. I couldn't agree with you more about not wanting them to give away the climax. Too many movies make the mistake of putting all plot points in the trailer leading up to the release. I don't think this is going to happen with Nolan though. As I have said, he is far too secretive for that to happen.

Great analysis too, by the way.
