The Dark Knight Batman VS Joker: The final Battle

Yeah I was definitely not saying I think it is the last scene either.

I don't believe that scene is the final scene at all. I couldn't agree with you more about not wanting them to give away the climax. Too many movies make the mistake of putting all plot points in the trailer leading up to the release. I don't think this is going to happen with Nolan though. As I have said, he is far too secretive for that to happen.

Great analysis too, by the way.

Thanks :O:woot: Can't wait to do another - we need that damn trailer :cmad:

Just reiterating - I wasn't assuming you thought so :O

Yeah your analysis was really spot on. Out of curiosity how long did it take you to compile all that?

That's what I was wondering...how long did it actually take you to do that analysis???

I was actually thinking about it today on the drive to school, how I really hope that "come on HIT ME" scene isn't the end.

I hate it when trailers show the final battle.

Because many trailers do that.

I can see this is the discussion that has been going on...

So I just wanted to get in on it

Haha, welcome DK! :yay:

I think that would be a perfect scene in the movie. Except, I think it would work better for the dynamic of the characters if they have Joker do something to upset Batman (kill Rachel? please?), making Bats consider killing him. That way we can see Gordon step up as the voice of reason for the first time in this franchise, as he has done for Bats many times in the comics. Batman would then let them take Joker away, sending him to Arkham, and further solidifying Batman's position on his "one rule".

agreed 100%

About 1 - 1.5 weeks of off-and-on work - I forget when I started doing it, but I know I had to do other stuff a lot of the time and that slowed me down a bit

Thanks for the enthusiasm, though :woot::up: Much appreciated

Yeah same, that pisses the crap outta me. I hope no TDK trailers show anything from the ending

I'll definately be looking forward to any analysis of further trailers

You know what I always liked in BTAS? How they'd seemingly kill Joker off at the end of half his episodes but he always came back. A favorite of mine was in Mad Love where they duke it out atop an elevated train, Joker falls off and plummets screaming into a factory smokestack.

Ok, many people argue about what the Climactic Final Battle of the film will be. Every good comic-book film has a climax. I know I Am Legend wasn't a comic-book film, but it's climax was wonderful. Spider-Man 3's was a little bit too good to be true. Spider-Man 1's was wonderful. 2's was ok. Batman Begins' climax wasn't HUGE (good thing, for this type of film).

My personal opinion is that at the end, after a long battle, Batman puts fear toxin onto Joker, causing him to actually fear Batman. (Barbastella plays ). If you think about it, this would be a wonderful climax! The Clown is brought to fear the Knight. Batman's purpose of being a bat in particular is to bring fear to those who prey on the fearful. If you notice, it's typically the other way around when Joker comes. So the climax almost has to be Joker brought to fear Batman. Do you know what this would do to Batman? It would pretty much bring him solidly to the icon of an immortal! What would it do if Joker, in the end, is not brought to fear Batman? It would mean that Batman has failed in one area. To bring fear to those who prey on the fearful. Not saying Joker cries and gets REALLY scarred. But to see a little fear on his face at the very end would just about turn this film into an A++ film for me.

Personally, I'm not really thinking about the climax of TDK right now. I don't want to speculate either. Nothing against the ones that do. But I just want to go in not expecting something and being totally blown away as I was with BB's ending. :)

Well, with me, I love to be surprised, and typically with films I end up learning everything about them and go in not surprised at all. I'm still gonna speculate, but I'm gonna try and avoid heavy spoilers like the plague. :p

"Wonderful"? I haven't seen the film, but I have a copy of the script with me:

The Fresh Prince pulls the pin of a grenade, then HEAD BUTTS A VAMPIRE TO TRIGGER AN EXPLOSION. Cut to VOICE OVER, including the obligatory titular line of dialogue.

Sounds a little baffling to me. BTW, I heard that Polanski was going to end "Rosemary's Baby" this way, but simply didn't have the budget to pull it off.

You'd have to see the entire film, and that scene before you can criticize it. I loved the ending. Sad, heroic, and all around good.

Batman: Look, over there, it's Harley Quinn *points*
Joker: Where? *looks*
Batman: Kicks Joker hard in the nuts.

THE END

Actually, I saw the whole film. The purported excerpt from the script was an invention, based on my memory of the film. Which was a steaming pile of poo.

"Sad, heroic, and all around good"? Have you been reading my review of the new Arby's they built in my neighborhood? Kindly provide a link when quoting my blog, please.

You sir, are a moron. That movie's climax was anything but good. It was an utter let down and completely off-kilter with the whole feeling of the rest of the movie.
I also feel that Joker getting gassed at the end to fear Batman is a lousy idea. Not to be negative or anything, but it is, frankly, kinda pointless. The ending could be so much more than Batman strong arming Joker into fearing him. Plus that'd go against everything the Joker is in the comics; that is a guy who is never afraid of Batman and would be willing to die to devastate the Batman's world.

Did I go see the same movie you did, because the I Am Legend I saw, had a terrible climax, and the movie started sucking once his side-kick dog died.
