Batman will return in 2019!

As they said, that a solo movie for each Batman and Superman will happen till 2020, i would guess, that we will see one movie 2018 (between both JL movies).
And the second one after JL2 in 2019!

They even could do one in early 2017 - but i think, that would be difficult because of the upcoming JL movies (planning, filming etc.) - but thereafter should be no problem.

Wouldn't it be cool if DC, instead of previewing their upcoming slates in post credit scenes like Marvel, did it the way Pixar used to, and had a 3 minute short at the beginning of each of their movies…?

Anywhere between November 2020 and July 2021 would be my guess. I'd bet on November 2020. It's a long ways off.

Bond always had a November release it would be cool we get a first winter Bat film in November but some how I doubt WB would do that.

I think there's a good reason WB didn't confirm the titles matching up with all their release dates. If one of the solo films fizzles, they can easily swap in the solo Batman or Superman film. Depending on how big BVS gets, and how well Affleck is received, I think we could see a solo film earlier than 2019.

I've come up with a list of potential dates, incorporating the 'Untitled' slots and other spots WB is likely to use.

* March 23, 2018
* July 27, 2018
* March 1, 2019
* April 5, 2019
* July 12, 2019
* November 1, 2019
* November 22, 2019

I can't see WB releasing another Batman film in June, they'll either keep him in the spring after BVS, mid- to late-July or possibly November.

For some reason, I don't find myself all that concerned with movies that are still years away from even being in pre-production.

Oh yeah. Lots of movies go into development and don't get any traction, I'm just throwing out some possible ideas WB might go with.

I think it will be placed within the 2017 schedule eventually...

Not a chance. Justice League is filmed in 2016, there's zero possibility of this happening. Honestly, 2019 is a stretch. 2020 is more likely. 2 Batman movies will be out in 2017 anyway.

I do think if BVS is more of a hit than expected, they could swap out one of their other DC titles for a solo Batman film. After Furious 7 hit a billion this April (and Alice in Wonderland in March 2010), there's incentive to hold on to the spring slots for 2018-2020.

And no reason WB can't release a solo Batman movie before the second Justice League movie...

That's impossible. Justice League 2 is only a year and a half after the first. Writing, shooting for close to 6 months, post-production, marketing the release with trailers etc...there's zero chance of that happening. It's 100 percent after Justice League 2 and 2020 will be the earliest.

April 3, 2020 seems like the best bet then.

July 27th 2018 The Batman

Batman : under the red hood
November 1, 2019

I bet WB is glad they reserved those early April spots in 2019 and 2020. I would not be surprised if WB moves Cyborg off the April 2020 and gives it to the solo Batman movie. Especially if BVS is a monster hit next year.

Even though WB announced DC titles to go with the dates, they haven't finalized them aside from BVS and Suicide Squad. So anything could change from 2017 onward.

So is the assumption here that Terrio will be writing both Justice League scripts at once?

I don't see why not. But releasing the films two years apart -- November 2017 and June 2019 -- doesn't make sense unless they aren't being filmed together. Filming them back-to-back would save a LOT of money as opposed to two separate shoots.

However, Deadline's article says that Terrio is just writing Justice League (no indication whether he's writing two films or not). So maybe someone else is writing JL2 while Terrio is doing JL1 and The Batman?

I hope Comic Con will clear things up by then.

You know I don't mind The Batman as a title...

Jett has his doubts but of course he does he didn't announce it first.

I'm sure they will be, but it will make for much flexibility where interstitials, tweaks and reshoots are concerned.

I'm not surprised by the title The Batman one bit. I felt that would be chosen as the title of the next solo Batman film back in 2013. I wonder if we'll get a different villain/antagonist for it, though. The Riddler, maybe.

so rumor going around that the solo Batman flick will come out November 2018

hopefully we get confirmation in Comic Con

I'd like to see a highly cerebral Batfilm with the Riddler as the villain.
