The Dark Knight Batman's Theme Music in TDK

Elfman and BURTON's films are what go "hand-in-hand".
Well that too. But I think Elfman works well on his own as well. The Spider-Man theme for instance, while not nearly as iconic as his Batman work, is very well done and fits suitably with the character.

Does anybody know if the score, when Bruce is surrounded by bats, is in the batman begins official soundtrack?

P.S. I think what Elfman did was brilliant in the context of Burton's vision. It was fantastical, and had this sort of dark fairy tale vibe. Very cool, indeed.

What Zimmer and Howard did in Begins is more interesting to me. Also very unusual. There was a lot of percussion, and electrical beats; it was really layered-Something i hadn't ever heard before. That's what blew me away about Begins' score.

Yeah it is. Best part of the film and the score IMO!!

As an amateur musician myself, I really love the very eerie theme that plays during the Scarecrow/Falcone/Arkham "would you like to see my mask?" scene.

"There is a big Batman theme which I was playing with for the last one, but I always felt the character hadn't earned it yet, so I just want to go and play around, and I now want to go and complete that theme...")
I accept that reasoning, but the high bar is set and this time the game is on, no more excuses.

I'm not crying over Elfman's theme not being used. It was great for Burtons Bat films. It would be incredibly dumb if they reused that theme with Nolan's Bat films. I for one can't wait to hear TDK's official theme. I loved the BB's score. Sorry for ranting, but get over it. :)

I agree, I love that music, it was very creepy and eerie, I'm thing if Joker gets a theme it should be something along those lines.

Not really sure why they say it´s an exclusive, we´ve known for a long time that he´d be getting a new theme

I agree.
I finally got around to buying the BB sountrack last month, and it's worth every penny. It's very atmospheric, and strangely enough, at times reminds me of Pink Floyd's The Wall. Strange......

Yes! Some of it reminds me of a horror movie soundtrack at times.

Batman Freak, can you tell me what the name of the track was?

hang on a sec, I'll find it, I was listening to it just today....

The end of track 4, Barbastella. The part where he ventures into the cave and is surrounded by bats.

I actually think it will be more along the lines of Myotis and Molossus. Now those track is off the hook!!!!

But, imagine it built up further into a theme. But, if you look throughout the film you'll really find those notes in alot of it and it's probably one of the most memorable tracks from the film.

Molossus:

Those repeating notes that go a step higher, that's definitely part of the theme- you can find that throughout the entire film.

Hell yea
I think they said something about this before.
I wish they would just keep the Elfman theme :(
Sweet, this is awesome news. What do you mean by keep the elfman theme? I though zimmer did the whole score for BB?

Zimmer mentioned awhile ago about the whole "Batman not earning his theme yet" idea and I'm glad he's sticking with it. Just like the Bond theme is left out of Casino Royale till the last shot, I think it works. I'm excited to see what he comes up with

I agree.

Maybe Dark Side of the Moon syncs up with Batman Begins.

:D

Yea me too.
its hard to decide between Elfman and John Williams sometimes for me.

Good god no. Elfman is NOWHERE NEAR Williams's league. Not even the same sport really. Williams is a god, Elfman is merely a semi-talented peon.

I agree, the Elfman theme was so awesome, it was dark and really felt like it should be Batmans theme.

Disagree again. Elfman's theme would NOT work with Batman Begins. B89 was a much more Hollywood movie, with the typical large piece symphony orchestra and more definite themes.

Batman Begins, with its more dark, gritty, and realistic nature, needs the chaos and long drawn chords and melodies of the type of score it had.

Don't get me wrong. I like the B89 score, but it doesn't fit in at all with BB's world.

Can someone see if it does synch up? That would be AWESOME!!!! I love the Munchkin introduction scene with "Money!" Lol. Great.

The Elfman theme was/is a masterpiece, however, I don't think it would have suited Nolan's Batman. I can't wait to hear what Zimmer has in store. I also hope he experiments with 'themes within the theme' like Elfman did i.e. interesting variations for the Joker. It needs to be incredibly sinister sounding whenever the Joker is onscreen!

We actually heard part of it already- Myotis and Molossus. Themes are in there in full orchestra that are present throughout the entire film, but not complete.

I am pretty sure he also said- earlier- that we got part of the theme but it was never completed, only hinted at.

i am watchign every month BB soundtrack. its amazing. so much emotions.

Oh God, I hope it's not just a Zimmer score. The best parts of the BB score were clearly James Newton Howard pieces.

Odd that SHH didn't mention Howard in the article. I hope he's still on. His dramatic stuff for BB was amazing too.
