The Dark Knight Batman's Theme Music in TDK

Actually, I've always thought the "earned" Batman theme doesn't come in until the tail end of the end credits, and is a theme that doesn't really appear elsewhere in the film.

First of all for those who think this is a stupid thread....if it wasn't for music in movies there would be no drama

the song at the 2:00 mark sounds like BB and Pirates of the Carribean 2 combined.

LOL, tis true! liked POTC better though.:oldrazz:

That's what I had heard. And that they were going to build and add to that.

when jokers on screen, they should add creepy little jack-in-the-box jingles like in B89 when joker is sitting at the desk and you can hear these creepy little childrens toybox jingles in the background, i think that fits Joker perfectly.

Out with the old... it was great but it's not good to cling to the past. Zimmer has to start from scratch and really bust his a** on this one.

I'd like to hear a very creepy, slow strings version of Entry of the Gladiators for Joker's theme.

I remember when the first pic of joker was released (the IBIHDT one) someone put a myspace account which was posing as the jokers account. the profile song was Mr Sandman, listening to that while looking at the joker pic really creeped me out. I would love some type of feel like that with Zimmers music. oh btw Newton Howard is returning as well right? I like Zimmer, but without newton the music would fall into generic action movie score. sorry Hans zimmer fans its true!

i was being sarcastic with my first post. i guess nobody realised that and thought i was serious.

I think the new theme occurs at around 0:50 in that trailer you posted.

Plus, I can generally say that around 1:26 in Antrozous is where you can hear tidbits of the new theme.

If I were placing bets, I'd say it's either coming at the middle of the 2nd act, the end of the 2nd act/beginning of the 3rd act, or at the movie's climax. All of the "moment of truth" points.

Thats exactly what i was thinking!

I wouldn't say the "moment of truth" points. I'd placea beat on the scene where Batman realises that it has to end; kinda like Keaton suiting up for the final battle in B89 ("he's out there, and I gotta go to work").

There's a recurring theme that Antrozous and Molossus share...

...and then there's also that two note entry that can be heard throughout BB (that can also be heard in the Antrozous and Molossus tracks) most notable during the scene where Bruce Wayne was surrounded by thousands of bats...

i would love Batman's official theme to build upon those tracks...

Molossus for example felt like it could already stand alone as Batman's "action" theme...

I still call bs on that "Bruce hasn't earned a theme yet" pathetic excuse.

Actually, I like the idea of Batman having to earn his theme. It's a good idea in my opinion. The series, like the character, is evolving.

BB theme was wonderful can you imagine with the intensity of this movie, how badass this theme will be!?!

I can't understand the hate for the Begins score. Well...i've only seen it on this board. Molossus is an amazing track. It ain't 1989 anymore, get over it.

Elfman's score was fantastic and I truly believe Begins was on the level.

To me, nothing will ever beat Danny Elfman's theme...

It's possibly one of the greatest themes ever.

Danny Elfmann and John Williams kick major soundtrack ass.

Also, I liked the BB score, I genuinely did....

But Elfman's score was movie magic... It was something special. It's up there with Jaws.

No way is BB in that league. Good, but nothing special.

Yes , I agree. I would love to think Begins was on the same level, it did fit the movie well and pumped me up sometimes. But it's hard to think of something comparing to the Elfman Batman theme. And maybe it's because it was the first Batman movie, but Elfman's theme is iconic man. It really sets a great mood for Batman, so mysterious. It's just a great theme.

Even if I doubt that this is the theme he was spaking of, it's a really good piece of music.

I like the idea that he hasn't earned it yet, but I don't think Hans Zimmer completely understands the making of a themed song for a character such as Batman. Danny Elfman hit the nail on the head with his rendition, which has been used for TAS.

What is Han Zimmers background? What other movies has he worked on? I really wish they hadn't gone with this guy. His version sounds like something you would hear in nearly any other movie.

Zimmer's theme can be heard in the film, especially in the third act during the Tumbler chase ("Molossus") and during the train sequence.
