The Dark Knight Batman's Theme Music in TDK

I'm surprised that no here has taken seriously the literal interpretation that the iconic Batman theme of these movies was presented at the beginning of the end credits when "Batman Begins". The first 90 seconds of this music (appropriately found in "End Credits" on the extended BB score album) is my favorite part of the soundtrack. Hell, its even played at least twice before the end of the movie. First to great dramatic effect in my favorite scene of the movie, where Batman escapes from Arkham, and also before he leaves to confront Ra's. I don't know if you guys don't consider this a theme, or don't like it. I love it. Its hard to describe, but when I listen to it, it sets the mood and fits the atmosphere completely. In the beginning its as if "there's crime afoot, but Batman is preparing and on his way", and then near the 45 second mark, its like "Batman's arived and is kicking ass and distributing justice in heroic fashion". My hope would be that they expand on this theme if anything (with all the distinctive themes and music already present in BB, I really don't feel they need to add too much else).

IMO the 2 best Batman themes were The Mask of the Phantasm and The theme from TAS.

But now it's safe to assume that Batman earned himself the right to have a pop song representing him:woot: So Seal should be approached immediately to write one!
It's either that or... cowbell:oldrazz:

No Seal please thanks.

This is a smart move by the filmmakers. The idea that his skill increasing is underscored by an evolving theme is a great one.

Yeah that was just on tonight coincidentally. Particularly in the scene near the end building up to Darkman swinging over and kicked that guy off the skyscraper, reminded me a lot of the B89 score.

the score for darkman was kinda similar to batman 89

Elfman's scores are all similiar. That's no criticism - the same can be said of John Williams.

It's what gives their stuff it's own unique signature - much like a director or an artist.

When you hear an Elfman score - you know who composed it.

I wouldn't mind seeing Batman pummeling Joker to the beat of Don't Stop me Now...

Maybe with a pool cue.

Nah, Shaun of the Dead did it perfectly, no need to duplicate it, eh?:cwink:

PS: I know you're joking. So am I:yay:

yea but this was just too similar especially around that helicopter scene

Personally I hope the theme is the bit we heard in the trailer when we see Bruce walking up to the personal jet:

I still call bs on that "Bruce hasn't earned a theme yet" pathetic excuse.

It means "I composed one, Nolan said it sucked and nixed, now I'm stuck trying to find a new one to satisfy that s.o.b."

I don't remember it very well but I believe you.

Back in the day everyone wanted Batman89 in their movies. Elfman was quite required.

The piece of music at the very end of the end credits of Begins sounds like what the theme could be.

Elfman's theme for Batman89, while memorable and enjoyable, is too cartoonish for Nolan's world. BB's music was classy and fit perfectly with the tone of the movie.

Having a signature and ripping yourself off over and over are two different things. Elfman doesn't compose scores for films. He just repackages the same one.

If someone sends me the file for the end credits score sequence, I can whip up an edited soundtrack of what the theme could sound like.

I heard hints of Batman Begins during Transformers. :oldrazz:

Don't laugh at it, it's true. TF's music ripped BB, Terminator and every generic piece of epic music Zimmer has written. A total mess.
