The Dark Knight Batman's Theme Music in TDK

Batman still has to get 50 more exp points, they dont just hand out theme songs you know.

LOL, yeah, whatever. I hate it when they "pretend" something like that. LOL. THERE WAS NO COMPLETE THEME IN BB FOR BATMAN.

Yes there was. You can listen to it in Molossus and then in several other tracks all over the movie.

Maybe you mean it wasn't that memorable.

This is obvious from listening to the score AND from the words of the composer. What more do you need??

I need nothing more than the soundtrack and people all over the net comparing the BB theme to Elfman's to understand why suddenly they needed another Bat-theme under the "he hasn't earned a theme yet" excuse.

No, the composer is lying to us. Theres a conspiracy!!

Nah. it's merely Hollywood filmmaking business.

But that one was not earned.:ninja:

Themes aren't earned.

Personally I thought the end score of Begins was a great Theme for Batman. Especially the opening minute of it.

I loved the music for BB. I don't get how some people say Zimmer's line about Batman not earning his theme was an excuse because he didn't have time for one. Was there any proof that he came on late or something to score the movie?

Although I loved his score and it worked great for the movie I didn't like how it was structured on the actual album. There were parts were you hear what I believe to be his theme but then it always cuts out to almost a complete quite vibe with no sound then throws a bit of something else at you. A good example is tracks 7-10. I agree with El Payaso about track #10 Molossus, that sounds like his theme. I think if anything, Zimmer is going to add more to it and really flesh it out for TDK.

Thank you. I mentioned earlier that the 1st 90 seconds of the "End Credits" was already a great Batman theme, but people on here were too busy jerking off about some stupid Darkman music to even acknowldege a halfway intelligent and on-topic post. I listen to "End Credits" all the time and I think its pretty damn good theme already.

LOL, at what's in bold.

I agree, that music at the very end as well as the music when he is in the Tumbler chase and jumps off the building after he gives Rachel's line back to her "...but what I doooo that defines me" all sound great in my opinion for his theme.

You mean that ACTION THEME? Anyone with the slightest of ear for score music can tell you that isn't a complete, definitive ANYTHING other than an action piece with thematic elements within it.

I mean, the COMPOSER HIMSELF has stated it isn't a complete theme. Are you just incapable of understanding or listening? I am not trying to flame, I just don't see how anyone can be so close-minded and unreasonable when it comes to something like this. This is from the man himself, yet you say he's lying or pretending?

Themes aren't earned.

What is the deal with your being absolute and definitive on everything? Have you heard of the score from the prequel trilogy of Star Wars? Apparently not, because that score contains infant versions of themes that are fully realized in the OT.

Themes can be earned if the filmmakers say so. You really have no authority or say so in the matter.

Yessir:woot:

Maybe it's Casino Royale style, where the theme is heard in the end credits. Maybe the theme actually IS in the end credits. If that is the case, Elfman's theme is RESPECTIVELY more memorable to me (and more iconic).

You mean that ACTION THEME? Anyone with the slightest of ear for score music can tell you that isn't a complete, definitive ANYTHING other than an action piece with thematic elements within it.

It was complete, or did someone stole a bit of it?

Of course it wasn't the Elfman or Williams kind of structured theme, but it was the Batman theme for Batman Begins. It was there when the Waynes were killed (not an action scene btw), when Batman was on screen, as with any character theme. It was the leit motiv.

Now, it's genius how we started this talking about how Batman didn't have a theme and now we talk of "incomplete theme." It's a progress.

I mean, the COMPOSER HIMSELF has stated it isn't a complete theme. Are you just incapable of understanding or listening?

You mean if I am just incapable of buying anything any Hollywood person says?

If for that, if Schumacher says he made the best Batman movie, do I have to believe it because it was said by the DIRECTOR HIMSELF?

I am not trying to flame, I just don't see how anyone can be so close-minded and unreasonable when it comes to something like this. This is from the man himself, yet you say he's lying or pretending?

He's giving a nice explanation that should sound better than "We were asked for a most memorable theme that can compete with Elfman's."

Now, before anyone explodes I'll repeat myself: I love thew Zimmer score as much as Elfman's and in fact I don't think they had to create a new Batman theme at all; the one they got is excellent.

What is the deal with your being absolute and definitive on everything?

Dunno, what is the deal with you being like that?

Have you heard of the score from the prequel trilogy of Star Wars? Apparently not, because that score contains infant versions of themes that are fully realized in the OT.

Williams himself said he didn't want to repeat the old SW movies themes because it would be boring so he decided to vary them.

Themes can be earned if the filmmakers say so. You really have no authority or say so in the matter.

Filmmakers are authorities about things they make up? Sounds about right.

But at the same time that's why we all are authorities about excuses man. Because we all make them. Stick to your work, Zimmer, you did great. You want to vary the theme? Ok, go, but as a musician your authority is not about the excuse for it, just to make a great job with it.

Its a conspiracy I tell you!! Zimmer is a part of it!!! He was lying to us!

Making excuses for himself and his work is not lying. Just creating a nice version of things out of nothing. He's basically varying the theme, period. He didn't lie about it.

Themes aren't earned.

You hire a composer.

You pay him millions.

He churns out the theme and it has to be good, or he gets his ass fired and replaced.

Simple as that.

I don't think he was bad-mouthing the music.

It was complete, or did someone stole a bit of it?

OMG, I think teh jokar stoled it! Or Scarecroew sprayed it with his fear toxin and it went away!1

Damn Zimmer and those filmmakers! They obviously know so little about music and "progress" and themes! No wonder BB and its music sucked. Bring back Schumacher and Goldenthal STAT!

Williams is such a genius. He lets boredom affect his work and decide his theme. :whatever:

The BB soundtrack was amazing you goon.

How is he saying otherwise?

I miself finds BB soundtrack amazing. And call bs to the "theme earning" excuse.

Apparently they are, or Batman wouldnt be getting a new one:ninja:

That's called 'to change a theme'.

OMG, I think teh jokar stoled it! Or Scarecroew sprayed it with his fear toxin and it went away!1

Kudos to the jokes.

Also to the fact you ignored I said I loved BB soundtrack (it wouldn't help your points to acknowledge that, I understand) and the rest of what I said.

Yes, writing with 11! and 'teh' will make a point for you. Keep trying.

lol@ people taking Zimmer's " He hasnt earned his theme" comment literally

" Your so suppose to give him one...your paid for it....grrrr"

LOL!
