BvS Batman's Voice Thread

Affleck's not going to have a Conroy-esque voice. I wish.

I gave it a listen few more times. I was disappointed at first to hear it's modulated, but I kinda like it. It sounds better than Bale's, clearer... I especially like it when he says "that son of a ***** brought the war to us".

Oooph... I don't know how to feel about it. His Bruce voice is so good, I wish we were getting that.

I'm missing Michael Keaton more than ever.

I simply cannot believe it.

Can't wait to listen to Batman scream at the Joker like he's doing it through a fan on high speed.

I'm fine with what I heard. It's it's own thing & I like it for that reason. I don't hear anything comparable to Conroy's or Bale's which are the 2 most notorious Bat-voices. It doesn't bother me if regular & robo-voice are the same.

His Batvoice sounds fantastic. Dark and heavy. No idea why people think it sounds robotic. A little modulated.

But I'm REALLY digging his Bruce Wayne voice/accent. That's not Affleck's normal voice. Love it.

The worst byproduct of the Nolan trilogy. I can't f'n believe after all the ruckus surrounding Bale's voice, Snyder doubled down and continued the trend.

I have no idea what voice you all were hearing that you heard Bale's Batvoice.

Totally channeling the Bale Bat voice. Only this one sounds like a robot impersonating it. Awful.

Sometimes it was a little overmodulated but I did like "I thought she was with you"

Oh yeah, that gruff Bale-Batvoice.

Disappointed with his Bruce voice though; it's not his Boston accent from The Town. :o

I think people need to listen to a recording of Bale's Batvoice, and then listen to this one.

Not the same thing on any level. There's almost no "rasp" or "hoarseness" to this.

It sounds nothing like Bale. It's stupid in its own way.

I don't know what the hell they are thinking with this. Synthesizing the voice all but drowns out any emotional nuance to it. Just imagining him using this voice in calm conversation with the League has my eyes rolling.

Stupid Bat-voice Round 2. Be still my ****ing heart.

after the sad hilarity that was Bale's Batvoice, Batfleck sounded pretty darn perfect to me :D

Can you imagine his flirtations with Catwoman? :funny:

The worst part about the modulation is it removes any sense of identity (contextually makes sense, but boring) and becomes another standard robovoice we've heard billions of times throughout our lives.

Nothing BATMAN about it. And it's going to become all the more awkward when there's need for back-and-forth dialog exchanges with other supporting cast who sound completely normal.

It sounds better than Bale's to me and as I said, I kinda like it, but, yeah, the exact scenario you just mentioned above is why I think a modulated voice is always a bad approach, no matter how good and clear to understand they make it. It just sounds off in some situations.

No.

Unless he stops using any inflections, synthesizing the voice will not "drown out emotional nuance".

I don't know if you all noticed, but he's a bit more "Bruce" with the voice at times, too. I think he can decide how and when to use it. I like that. Humanizes him.
