...This is interesting news! I think this kind of event and also the changing of the costume half way through the film (as heard from past news a few weeks ago) could be a good point in the movie.
The part where everything seems to go wrong before the final uplifting costume change before the final battle. If this does go through, the batmobile blowing up I mean I'm not sure how it could pan out but "In Nolan We Trust." For all u na-sayers keep the faith! He never let us down before on anything!

^ You're right it sounds like a big ending to a second act, beginning of third.

It was suppose to be blown up in the original, that's how it was going to take down the monorail but Nolan loved the vehicle so much he rewrote the ending so it could return in the sequel

Nolan also said he that's when he first realized he'd probably want to come back for a sequel altogether. His love of the Tumbler was the tipping point !(how cute ). I think it's on the dvd extras, forget his exact words but it sounded kinda special.

And to top it off, somebody post pics of Kurt (who shold've been Batman back in the day) Russell as the Baddest of BadA$&, Wyatt Earp from the greatest Western of All time TOMBSTONE!

This isn't new news to me, I pretty much put 2 and 2 together and realized that they will indeed blow up the tumbler which is a good thing becauze I never really did liked the tumbler. It goes with the theme of escalation batman will struggle even more and try his best to fight corruption. Besides, the set has 10 tumblers so you know damn well they were gonna blow it up. Batman will have the batcycle remember? My interest now is, how will the tumbler be blowned up and I hope Nolan makes it look cool because he seriously suck as an action director. We haven't heard anything of the fighting in this film but now the hype has begun and will continue throughout the rest of 2007 until the release of the legendary DARK KNIGHT.

Well if this is true, I don't know what to think of it. Iam alright with it as long as it is well handled. I hope is not the joker just puting a bomb on the tumbler. It kinda somehow reminds me of BF and BR. The more important thing to me is that they don't change the tumbler, maybe some subtle changes for functionality but not to make it look cooler. The tumbler is great as it is.

I think the fact that the Batmobile is aniconic part of the Batman mythos would be that firm reason.

In time, as Batman's legend grows in Gotham, whatever he drives will come to be known as the Batmobile, so the new and improved Tumbler will essentially be known as the Batmobile (Especially when there are noticable batfins on it. t: )

you kind of contradicted yourself- and i agree with your second paragraph- the tumbler IS the batmobile, so there's no need to have an entirely different design emerge if the first is destroyed because everyone already accepts the tumbler as the batmobile. i can see some enhancements but not a completely slick batmobile a la burton.

am i really the only one who thinks a batcycle would pwn? dude a highspeed motorcycle would kick ass (although his cape is way too huge probably)
