Totally man.

People here, often, read a differing opinion, and then get red-faced about it, but they should realize, we're here, NOT to xerox our own opinions, but to communicate with weird people from a million miles away.

Also, bringing up LZ's worst song is the same thing as me bringing up "I wanna be your MAN" by the Beatles to represent them instead of "A Day In The Life"

Well there are a few other bad Zeppelin songs. I'm not sure I'd even call that the worst. Some people I know actually like that song.

'cause they're a cheesy band?

Cheesy? Yes. Rocking? Yes. Best band to listen to in the car while rocking out in a cheesy fashion? Hell yes.

So many good bands, but the Beatles get my vote

Life is so strange when its changin, yes indeed
Well Ive seen the hard times and the pressures been on me
But I keep on workin like the workin man do
And Ive got my act together, gonna walk all over you

(chorus)
Gimme back my bullets
Put em back where they belong
Aint foolin around cause I done had my fun
Aint gonna see no more damage done
Gimme back my bullets

Sweet talkin people done ran me out of town
And I drank enough whiskey to float a battleship around
But Im leavin this game one step ahead of you
And you will not hear me cry cause I do not sing the blues

(chorus)
Gimme back my bullets
Put em back where they belong
Aint foolin around cause I done had my fun
Aint gonna see no more damage done
Gimme back, gimme back my bullets
Oh, put em back... where they belong

Been up and down since I turned seventeen
Well Ive been on top, and then it seems I lost my dream
But I got it back, Im feelin better everyday
Tell all those pencil pushers, better get out of my way

(chorus)
Gimme back my bullets
Put em back where they belong
Aint foolin around, cause I done had my fun
Aint gonna see no more damage done
Gimme back, gimme back my bullets
Oh put em back where they belong
Gimme back my bullets

I gotta go with the band that inspires me the most in my own singing and playing. Fly high free birds, gimme my Skynyrd.

Led Zeppelin. I just really love Robert Plant's voice. Just going off of his voice is what got my vote, that's not counting anything else.... Strange enough, I really didn't enjoy their music until I read such high esteem and "discovered them" on the Hype so my vote maybe meaningless.:(

Another band that's I love would be Creedence Clearwater Revival.

EDIT: OH ****! I clicked Lynard Skynard.

I'm not abig fan of any of them...but I'd say The Doors

My vote went to Led Zeppelin, my favorite band. An Robert Plant does have an amazing voice, sometimes verging on the hypnotic

If it's not Zeppelin, then injustice continues to reign supreme. They are the alpha and the omega of rock. The zenith of what rock could be was reached in the seventies. Everything after them has been an echo of their greatness.

Wow, it took the Hype for you to discover Zeppelin?

Where have you been:confused:

I hate the beatles.
They do nothing for me

You are now nothing in my eyes.

That being said, I voted for Led Zeppelin. There has never been a band that packed more emotion, soul and power into their music than those guys. They completely changed the face of music as I look at it. The way they managed to incorporate folk rock, early metal, early '50s style rock as well as gospel and pyschedelia in their music (often in one song) proves that Jimmy Page was a complete and total genius. "Kashmir" is the greatest rock and roll song ever made, and Physical Graffiti is the best album ever. They are also the best live band in the world. I have never seen a band that was able to hold their audience more than Zeppelin.
These guys are the masters. Salute them.

Also, can someone explain to me why AC / DC aren't on the poll. Not that I would've voted for them, but a band that great does not deserve to be relegated to the "others" selection.

AC/DC, The Grateful Dead, and KISS have all had relevant impact in the annals of classic rock history.

I'm really rather disenchanted that you chose to leave them off of the list. I'm also curious as to what you used as a source guide to gather your information for this particular poll. Did you consult some source, or is this just something you drew from your mind and bands you remembered or had a personal like toward?

I love KISS, but I wouldn't put them on the poll. They're very second tier. They were often more about their merchandise than the music.

With regard to their talents as musicians, that's true. But in regard to their live performances, and what they give the fans, as well as their impact in the history of rock and roll, as well as their longevity, they've definitely made their mark.

The Grateful Dead are also a group that has really transcended every generation, and found a place with most groups. They're style of music reverberates throughout many a house on universities. I still here them a lot at parties.

ACDC is a group that has transcended tragedy in their humble beginnings, and maintained a viable presence throughout the 70's, 80', etc.

Granted, the bands I put, are probably better well-known for their live performances, but I believe they bear mentioning in a poll which alludes to the great classical rock bands of any era.

I agree that The Grateful Dead and AC / DC should've been included. I also think we could've made room for Guns N' Roses, Van Halen and Nirvana.
