Battlefield 3

I'm not sure, Caspian Border wasn't lnear at all. Once thing that was good about Metro was the shogun, it's kind of useless in the big enviroments but in the tunnel with close up encounters it was pretty fun blasting people.

Yea from what iv seen Caspian Border looks like the definitive BF map. One of my fav maps in the last game was Harvest Day and CB gives the same vibe. Altho there was another BC2 map that was prob the biggest map in the game which also reminds me of CB. Cant recall its name tho.

I got stuck in the train station map, and it was really lame. More COD than Battlefield. Definitely not grabbing my interest yet.

I just got finished playing a few matches of the "beta". Pretty buggy, and a lot of little things that annoyed me about Bad Company 2 still remain, but I had fun with it.

I'm really liking the beta. For some reason, I really like the animation you do when you hop over something.

All the traversal stuff is fantastic. Leaping over things, going prone and crawling around, it all looks and feels great.

Some of their Mirror's Edge experience bleeding back into Battlefield, I guess.

Hahah me and my friends were playing the beta for the first time today and when I jumped over a fence one of my friends said "WTF was that?" I didn't even notice it the first time. It's a really cool touch. Overall we actually really loved the beta and we're all COD fans. It feels pretty different, but still just as fun.

Yeah, I loved it. Only played it a little bit but like other people, I think i'd rather wait until the full game comes out. I'm really hooked into Gears 3, and it seems like BF 3 will really be such an involved game for multiplayer that i'll need to sorta focus on that for a few days to really hook into it. I was way too 'run and gun' from all the Gears I've been playing, and I know that's not the best way to play a BF game. Perhaps a week before release I'll hit up some BC 2 to get back into the mindset.

About the changes, I found the new HUD a little confusing. I was starting to get the hang of it, but yeah, I think that will take some getting used to. I remember BC 2 being a bit the same though, so I'm sure it's just about adjusting to it.

I love the idea of giving assault players medkits instead of ammo now. That right there is one of my favourite changes. Just to weed out that lone wolf mentality, for all the people who loved going out on their own and only supplying themselves. It forces all the basic assault players to actually play the medic role, which is a great idea. Also, like you guys, I love all the little touches and animations. Pulling out the bipod for certain weapons when going prone, holding RB (or melee) to not just slash but actually keep the knife equipped, jumping animations... It just all feels so much more real, everything feels weighted in real physics. So different from Black Ops that after this, I may feel it's going to be hard to ever go back to a Call of Duty game for anything other than novelty. I mean, there was just something so atmospheric in this, when you're slowly and silently moving down a subway tunnel with a squad in completely darkness, unsure of any enemy presence but being totally alert, then spotting a light flash or something and all hell breaks loose... It's real warfare.

I think the guy from EB I was talking to at the Gears 3 launch has summed it up best for me, better than anyone. Call of Duty is for teenagers and young kids, who just play it because its what everyone their age plays... Battlefield 3 is for adults.

I played a bit last night and I have to admit at first it kinda rubbed me the wrong way but I think it's just I'm use to playing COD and this plays more like BF:BC 2, which isn't a bad thing I just need to get use to the way it plays. I like the med kit's and I love how big the map is that always seems to put me in new places. I can't wait to get my hands on vehicles and mess around with those.

But as some as said I kinda just want to wait till the full game comes out since I'm only getting a fraction of what this game is capable of.

After playing it for some time, the game feels a lot more controllable then BC2. When they work out the kinks... This is going to be one hell of a game.

sinking through the ground while in prone does take me out of the immersion.

So glad I haven't encountered any of these bugs people are talking about :P

Yea iv seen just about every one of them. But thats why ya go to Battlelog and tell them. Im not at all worried about the final game.

This Beta is mostly for server tests. Clearing their lungs before they sing.

Played the beta for a few hours..... Not really my cup of tea

If this "beta" is about stress testing their servers, then why is it so damn buggy? I know it's not a current build, but still, the game is out in less than a month. Not a great sign. My original plan was to get Battlefield 3 on release, and then MW3 some time later, but if the final game is anywhere close to being this unstable, then I'll have to do the opposite.

played the beta, it just doesnt feel like the battlefield i loved... it feels too cod-ish

i really liked the openness of the other games(especially for sniping) and i never felt rushed (yeah i know its called rush mode lol) ...

from what i played i was not too impressed at all.. why bother releasing a beta of a crappy map, crappy game mode, and extremely glitchy gameplay?

im still buying it, i know they will fix all the bugs and there should be some of the original game modes and open maps that i love (vehicles!)...

Just played the beta. Wasn't really impressed. I know it's just a demo so I'll probably rent the game before I officially make up my mind. Either way, it's not a day one purchase for me.

Yea I'm definitely getting MW3.... I was a lil hesitant but after playing... I know this isn't the game for me

I was having an OK time playing it. I was getting kills without any problems and it was OK. But for me to purchase a game it's got to be more than OK. I'll rent it and see if it blows my mine as a finished product.

This pretty much sums it up for me.
