The only reason BF is bigger this time around is because of the COD vs BF and consolers making this go full mainstream. Majority of COD players play on console, BF creators are targeting COD creators. You seriously think that a pc only title could knock down COD? I wasn't aware I worked for EA. Dice. Or in anyway whatso ever was a bussiness man. Or for that matter wanted it to be super popular. So far from what I have learned. usually (and sorry but this is usually due to consoles) when a game becomes super mainstream, it becomes super-streamlined. It becomes super monetized. It gets run into the ground with 50 spin-offs. It gets rushed sequels. It becomes more budget than substance. Why would I want that? To beat Call Of Duty? So this basically becomes the next Call Of Duty. Bad logic son. You make a good point though, they are targeting Call Of Duty, which makes being sceptical super duper logic.

You are always a part of the gaming business when you purchase games, you are the consumer, we are the consumers. We endorse the creators, developers, publishers, distributers, and retailers when we buy a particular game. Working for them, no, but providing for yes. Mainstream vs underground is another subject, but it seems that the creators/devs have made up their mind without consulting their pc fanbase, hope that stings while they make bank. There is a difference from being part of the business and sharing the same agenda with a business, which seems to be the point you were driving at.

That's what I just said. And exactly why I didn't buy Dragon Age 2.
If it's the same case here, I may not buy this. *shrug* If it ends up the scary outcome mentioned above, I will just stop buying them altogether. But as many people seem to point out, console gaming is popular. it's also very hype based, so me doing this, means squat. still, it's the thought that counts.

64 players online and slightly better visuals does not justify spending nearly twice as much on a gaming platform. Well for a normal person anyway.

Me too. I've had some good times with PC gaming, but now it's become kind of expensive and cumbersome for me. Console gaming just gives me more opportunities to play with my buddies and ultimately thats what I like in gaming. It's something to do with my friends.

But couldn't you rig your system to play through ur tv?

I don't have anything against the PC platform other than it's cost. What you get doesn't justify that kind of money IMO.

That and Macs are far superior to PC's. As a gaming platform though, I don't mind them, they're just far too expensive.

Yeah I do. I run a 25ft HDMI cable to my PC so I can play Shogun 2 on my 42" HDTV. I just don't do it as much as I should or could.

Cost and convenience are two very big factors that prohibit me from playing as many PC games as I would like to, but this:

Console gaming just gives me more opportunities to play with my buddies

...is ultimately the deciding factor for me. Playing games with my friends>>>playing PC games I'm interested in.

i think ill cry if it looks like crap on 360 compared to that amazing pc demo...

good graphics or not i still think it'll be superior to cod... hell i think BC2 was already superior. i like the rock/paper/scissor type classes... rather than cod's epicly unbalanced customization system that really makes you have to play with one type of setup in order to not die..... and i like the teamwork that BF has... cod you can forget about strategy or teamwork, theres no time for that. lol

if cod has that seizure inducing single player type experience i wont be playing it.

god help ghost recon ..those guys look like they went overboard on the customization.

I think it's amazing they still haven't showed any multiplayer beyond 5 screenshots a 5 second flash trailer. Beyond that it's been some dude from a fan-website who got off-cam footage.

Well what's ur definition of crap? I mean it's NOT going to look like that. What EA has been showing off is that of a super high end PC, something prob costs twice, if not more, as much as a 360 or ps3.

If u thought BC2 looked good I think you'll be fine as I'd assume BF3 will look better than BC2.

My only prob with BC2 was some of the weapon models were off. The M4 being the best example. I think they just made that one up.

Oh they're there. Fairly easy to spot too. However, imo, its not enough of a difference that makes me want to plunk down 800 bux to get a rig to make it look like that. If i could get a rig for under 400 to do that, then id prob do it.
