The gameplay looked the same to me on the PC as it did the PS3 footage. Nothing looked different at all, they looked to play the same unlike the console versions of BF2. I'm guessing he means the graphics? Ah well, can't win them all.

What the hell is UN3, anyway?

Go Ando.... Jesus, why are there so many dumb ass gamers.

Oh, yeah, that makes sense. Never seen it abbreviated like that, usually people just say U3.

The detail on the rifle is noticeable, but thats all i really was able to spot. The lighting as well, but as iv stated, its not nearly a big enough gap to force me to run out and buy a PC and as you pointed out, they appear to be the same game. So atm, im more than impressed.

The game is looking great though. I mean i was impressed with BC2 and this looks to be better than that so i dont understand any one's complaints.

I'll admit, I'm a little pissed about the lighting. It's no biggie though.

I can't wait to see what the next gen systems will look like. Maybe we'll get a system that can handle the lighting from the frostbite engine.

Graphics aside, two things caught my attention. Vehicles will now regenerate some health and prone position will include an animation that prohibits firing ur weapon when changing position. Also, muzzle flashes/scope lense flare are also included when using prone too much.

Im loving all but the vehicle's regenerative health. I mean i see what they are going for, trying to not make some vehicles death traps, but i just hope it doesnt screw anything up. I mean it could be hard enough taking down a Hind without it regenerating health.

Apparently some people were also expecting 1080p. EDIT: And 60fps lol
The playstation 3 is not that powerful a platform, in some regards the xbox360 is better. Certian Playstation users seem to be under the impression it's the monolith from space odyssey 2001.

I think that's a pretty bad idea unless an engineer is already in the vehical acting as a buff.
After all, that's the point the engineer init?

Vehicles regenerating health? That sounds like it could be annoying

The vehicle health regen could just be in SP. I know vehicle damage in BFBC 2 sp was a little unforgiving, since you couldn't repair.

I think this game looks better than Killzone 3 & possibly Uncharted 3. I'd have to see the two side by side.

No its deff not just in SP. They said they are doing it because a lot of the vehicles in BC2 just ended up being death traps. I mean if a bunch of ppl piled into a humvee, chances are someone was going to get an instant 4 kills. They want to encourage people to use vehicles more often than they did in BC2.

Like i said, it was hard enough taking down a chopper in BC2 without it having regenerative health. So not sure how i feel about that aspect yet.

But the engineer needs to physically repair the vehicle. It doesnt need to be just because he's near it, it automatically heals. There needs to be something the player initiates to do that.

In battlefield 2 it happened automatically by sitting in the vehical.
Likewise with medics, they automatically started healing players. Automatic ammo replenishing also. Buffs, basically.

Technically is better than both. Asthetically, aside from being subjective, the two games you mentioned are stylized. Battlefield 3 aims for photorealism. It would make sense to compare it with a game aiming for the same goals.

Yea and thats stupid. The player should be exposed while healing a teammate or repairing a vehicle. There should be give and take for performing those actions. The game needs to push the authenticity, not drop it.

They are.

You shouldnt be able to repair a vehicle while inside it though. If the vehicle is being shot up, there isnt much a mechanic is going to be able to do from the passengers seat. Thats why 'buffs' are stupid. They decrease authenticity instead of adding to it. I mean obviously the game wont have the player get out of the vehicle, pop the hood, then begin an extensive repair but having the player have to use some type of equipment to do said action is a far better way to add realism then just having the player magically heal the vehicle with some invisible aura.

My one biggest disappointment about the console version is that its 30 FPS. I mean really DICE. :(

I have to hand it to COD that at least theirs is always 60 FPS on both console and pc, frankly it does make a giant difference. IMO

No one is disputing that.

It's just the FPS that disappoints me.
