Battlefield 3

Being able to use my repair tool on a heli in mid-air was helpful, but it was tricky gettin it to work everytime. Now I know that might make some pilots invincible, but I thought that if they still had to rearm at a base, they would not be such beasts. As it is, most choppers can be taken down by a number of methods and they take damage more easily and more quickly than most vehicles. So being able to repair in flight can be necessary, but not realistic.

Eh, i dont know, there are some levels where if you have a pilot who knows what they are doing and has flares, there is NOTHING that will bring them down. The apache and hind are just too fast to be hit with tracer darts and if the player has flares it doesnt matter anyway.

The rearming thing would level that out though, takes them out of the fight for about thirty seconds, and to help out even more, the heli's ordinance and ammo should be of realistic or minimmal quantity. This will cause pilots to ration their shots instead of releasing payload after payload every few seconds. When I pilot, I like to transport players into the field rather than be an attack chopper. The most I would use my weapons for is clearing our drop/pickup points and fighting other helis. The rest was evasive maneuvers and getting my landings and takeoffs right.

Yea i could get behind the rearming thing. I mean I don't have a problem with people using a chopper to wreck havoc on a battlefield, the only problem is if a player gets good enough using it, there isn't much the other team can do depending on the map. I think there should be multiple AA weapons per base on maps that feature choppers.

in all my time playing battlefield ive only ever hit the the heli with a dart once, i dont think their ammo should be limited tho... what happens when they run out? their useless then.

The support class takes a million rounds to cause any real damage, but the heli could just fly away quickly and land elsewhere.

i think the rocket launcher class should maybe have two heat seeking rockets or something

Iv hit plenty of choppers with the tracers, but they've all been of the troop transport variety. I havent hit many Hinds or Apaches.

As for their ammo being limited, once they run out they would just return to base to reload. I think that could prevent them from doing too much damage.

The repairing in mid flight is unrealistic but necessary while the infinite ammo is completely ridiculous. They don't even attempt a proper cooldown like all the other vehicles. Only thing against them is their inability to sustain heavy damage, but even when they do they can still fly like nothing has happened. A burning smoking heli can be just as dangerous as a regular one. At least screw up some of the control and lift when they take critical damage, and not just like they already do when they are completely done for. And even after all I said I still want the repair feature in flight and not just be a glitch. Make the ammo limited and finite so's to encourage more tactical air support rather than one flying hell beast dishing out damage at the enemy spawn point, pinning everything down indefinetly.

Bad Company 2 got alot of free suppurt. Aside from the elite thing, i'm surprised they aren't shouting about future *free* support as we know Call Of Duty will charge people through the nose. Perhaps EA are planning to charge for map packs this time.

Here is a scan from the mag PSM3. Goes over a few details about the MP. Game sounds so awesome. I also love the look of the 4 classes. Never was a fan of the engineers or medics look in BC2

Come come everyone! Read it and discuss! I can't sift through and still remember all the juicy details by myself! I like the consolidation of the classes, and the new options concerning the defib.

I love that the Support class is now going to act like its supposed to, with their primary goal to be providing cover fire.

I can't be bothered reading this but did they mention if vehical camping would be sorted out?

No, they didnt say anything about that.

But are you referring to people waiting for a chopper or other vehicle to spawn up, only for some idiot to jump in and immediately crash and burn?

Just people camping for vehicals in general.
Because Bad Company 2 had smaller maps it wasn't such a problem. With Battlefield 2 though people would practically line up and kill each other over a vehical.
It should be easy enough to sort by simply locking them out of a jet or chopper for a time duration after using one, it's what I'd do.

Yea, i didnt think it was that bad in BC2 either. However it was awful in BF 1943.

On a similar note, of annoying actions caused by teammates, the defib will now take time to work, have a cooldown, and give the dead player being revived the option to stay dead or get revived. Ever have a tard medic keep on reviving u in a heavy firefight just so u can get killed over and over? or how about the uber medic squad that revive each other like a pack of zombies after u kill most of them? Well, not no more!

Wow, how does that happen? Biggest and most professional trolling ever, perhaps?

Wow, that's actually the first thing about the game I'm completely against. I don't understand why they would go that route. Bad Company 2 had it. That's super dissapointing

Its going to look really stupid when you have a building with only a few supports left only to remain standing after a strong attack

Ouch bad move, why even tell us there were destruction elements in multiplayer only to come out now and say they're being nerfed?

Yeah, definitely brings some of the charm factor down on it. I mean, who wasn't looking forward to taking down a building or two in a multiplayer match? It was something pretty much everyone was talking about

Yea I agree. It was something special seeing a full building come down in BC2. That's really lame they aren't brining it back.

Honestly, taking down buildings was the only thing I liked in bad company 2 over mw2. I thought it was amazing everytime I did it, that is a huge shame that its being nerfed. Whats the point of frostbite 2.0 if it can't do something that frostbite 1.0 could do
