I liked the superbowl spot. I didn't have much interest before but it looks entertaining.

Even if movies just want to be popcorn action flicks, bad acting is bad acting and bad dialogue is bad dialogue.

Just because a movie is a "popcorn action flick" doesn't mean it gets a free pass. Unless it's so bad it's hilariously entertaining.

Well, Neeson did sign on so it's not exactly telling if that means it'll be a fine piece of cinema or not. But he likes to take on fun roles where he can ham it up on occasion.

The movie looks great. I'm digging the aliens, and the action scenes seem crazy intense.

It could be one of those films with awesome action sequences but everything in between is lame. It's hard to tell but it looks more Transformers/Battle:LA than Independence Day.

My expectations haven't been raised one bit. It's a dumb, Transformers knockoff with a big budget. I seriously think that it's an example of mass "Stockholm Syndrome" to start rationalizing going to it.

I think it is the premise which makes me feel the way I do. I enjoyed all of those you listed. Peter Berg at the helm is a plus though.

She actually was the best thing about the trailer (I think the movie looks terrible). I mean she could be terrible in the film for all I know but she comes off well in the trailer and I didn't expect that.

^Most singers need a degree of acting within them anyway now-a-days for adverts and music video's anyway, so one being a competent actor is never a surprise to me. Rihanna seems to have lots of charisma and and a huge amount of sex appeal also which you dont get without some acting ability in my eyes.

when she talks in the trailer it reminds me when i hear Timberlake talking in movies. both are singers and have this way of talking. they both talk like a singer. and i have a problem with this.

Talk like a singer? I never heard that before. Timberlake sounds kind of effeminate but never had much of problem with it.
