Looks better but I'm missing any humor in that trailer and something like "human factor". Just a stupid CG-extravaganza. :(

Which guarantees it will make its budget back.

Not sure. Even trailers for Transformers 1 were more about '1 teen-loser + 1 super-hot chick + some huge robots' but Battleship looks simply 'stupid'. You know nothing about these characters and their world. Nothing. Reminds me John Carter trailers, to be honest.

It's funny how visually the CG is so derivative of Transformers with slightly cleaner designs.

I'd still argue that Transformers brought a bad trend of overly busy designs to sci-fi movies.

this is a paycheck job for ILM. the money that they will make here will go into developing new cgi technology. the only complex work in this movie is water.

Not even going to lie, that was a really cool trailer. I'm probably gonna see the movie.

In the first draft of the Script, he dies during the first wave of attack from the Regents.

At least this movie won't have Bay's forced humor in it. But chances are it'll get replaced with unintentional humor which will make a great watch when your wasted.

I'll admit, it looks like it'll be pretty entertaining.

The only thing that looks good is the alien design

Damn that trailer was beautiful. I really want to see this thing. I hope it surprises a lot of people like Chronicle did.

I hope they didn't show too much.

VERY derivative of Transformers, but yeah, it looks like a decent time at the cinema, and Berg is a decent director so he may have infused some emotion and development into this.

Look, I'm looking forward to The Avengers... but come on. Anybody who says Battleship won't challenge them in the slightest two weeks from the release is lying to themselves.

This is the kinda stuff that people gravitate and flock to go see on the big screen in the summer (big explosions, epic-scale battles, top-notch CGI, hot actors/actresses, etc). I don't see this film flopping, even if it pertains awful acting and story-telling.

One could almost mistake it for a Bay exercise if not for the fact that the camera now seems to be held by an adult, instead of an epileptic toddler, and there is no ass ugly layer of teal on it.

I still see this flopping.

I seriously can't, but I hope it does.

How this got made over Halo, I'll never know. Seriously, Universal, you rejected the Halo project with Neill Blomkamp and Peter Jackson attached to it but you made a film based on a board game instead?

Unforgivable.

I'm not underestimating Peter Berg either. This is the director that did give us The Kingdom, The Rundown and Friday Night Lights after all.

To most people, making a movie based on a video game is no different.

And most video game movies either fail, or are immensely successful without having much to do with the game its based on (Resident Evil).
