Again, this goes back to Bay and his notorious rep for being clowned on by internet users for every move he makes. I am not convinced this has anything to do with the actual method of shooting with IMAX.

Bay is a bad director and a hack. Simple as that.

Maybe Bay and the DOP did a lot of research into IMAX cameras before they started shooting TF-2, I don't know. The way Paramount/Dreamworks leapt on the bandwagon so quick after TDK hit it big makes me think Bay and the producers saw dollar signs rather than a tool to help tell the story and draw the viewer in.
