Beast Wars Question

If you'd seen the episode, you'd realize how out of place that thumbs-down is. Outside of the fact that Dinobot being gone just sucks in general, literally everything about his death was executed perfectly. He was by far the most compelling character of the second season, and his death certainly lived up to that.

Amen to that! RIP Chopper-face.

"He lived a warrior, and died a hero" - Optimus Primal @ Dinobot's death.

Best. Episode. Ever.

Only about 30 minutes left and I can finally watch that Episode for myself.

I hope you get a chance to watch the whole series sometime. The episode is great on its own, but it's especially good when you look at Dinobot's evolution throughout the series.

It's really been a while since I watched Beast Wars and I already forgot most of it. But I enjoyed all the Episodes I've downloaded so far. And I really like the mature tone & stories, but sometimes all those looney toon moments the show has are a real turn off.

Waspinator gets shot and falls down but his wings stay in the air. Or he gets squashed and slowly floats down like a piece of paper. Megatron, after getting attacked, spins around like Taz and falls of a cliff, but first of course hangs in the air for a second. And I really hate Waspinator and Inferno because they act like total brainless, goofs.

I don't have anything against a little humor to lighten the show up once or twice, but please just don't overdo it.

Yeah, there are a lot of goofy moments, since it was still aimed at children. But the core of the series was strong characterization and progressive story developments that could rival all but the best of more "mature" television. It was a lot like Batman: TAS and Gargoyles that way, although not quite as good as either in my opinion.

Just a question, could it be that the Predacons and Maximals are kinda weak designed? Because Dinobot actually managed so slightly damage Megatron with a stick and a stone.

Was anyone else bothered by the fact that Dinobot returned but none of the Maximals seemed to care? Of course I'm only at Episode #8 of the 3rd season so maybe it's going to change in a few Episodes.

You must have missed the episode where they introduce the new Dinobot.

No, I watched that too. Sure, Cheetor recognizes him and seems surprised that he's back. But they don't really do anything about it or try to talk to him.

I'm pretty sure the ep New Dinobot was introduced Cheetor became a Transmetal 2, which at the time was much cooler.

So no one really gave a **** about Dinobot.

Why would they bother to do anything about him? He's not really Dinobot, he's a new Predacon with a different spark who tried to kill them immediately and appeared totally loyal to Megatron. They probably figured Megatron just created a new Pred who looked similar to Megatron to screw with their heads and disrespect the real Dinobot's memory.

Yeah, like Corpulent said - he's just a material clone that Megs created using Dinobot's DNA - the spark (aka soul/essence) of the original Dinobot 'joined the matrix'.

Not to spoil anything, but you'll be surprised in the last episode with this new Dinobot.

Then I find it totally lame what they did. First they build up Dinobots character over 2 Seasons, have him die an heroic death and then they just bring him back as a clone. :down

Yeah, the clone kind of sucks. He's basically just another Pred lackey.

He was always portrayed as a tragic hero, kind of Shakespearian (for lack of words) - At least that's how I saw it. It was kind of expected that he'd pass away sooner or later. It brought more depth and 'reality' to the character than if they just ended up bringing him back. He lived a warrior and died a hero - his death wouldn't be that impacting if they just turned around and brought him back.

Like I said, you may be surprised in the last episode with Dinobot 2. I knew I was.

Just my opinion :)

The only thing positive about this is that the Predacons now finally have someone competent in their ranks.

Megatron was competent.........or atleast competent enough to know what the hell was going on and do something about it so he would get blown up.......most of the time.

I meant the lackeys.

Any of you guys into ReBoot?

Here in Canada it used to come back to back with Beast Wars on YTV.

That was a great show as well

ok, I just watched the final Episode of Season 3. And I can't believe they killed off Dinobot twice. :(

And why did all the badass Maximals Tigerhawk and Depth Charge have to die too? Depth Charge was one of my favorite Transformers.

Meh, the principle maximals survived and that's all that matters.

I suggest you watch Beast Machines now(the sequel)

I heard that the show is supposed to be really bad.

I liked it. Most people were disappointed though.:(

I started watching Beast Machines, then quit watching out of anger and disappointment. But I recently bought the DVD set and watched it from start to finish and, surprisingly, I was thoroughly entertained. The reason for that is because when I first watched it, I was expecting a new Transformers series with the Beast Wars crew; the second time I watched it, I was interested in seeing the story of the Beast Wars characters continue.

So, basically, if you approach Beast Machines as a TF series, it'll disappoint you a lot. But if you approach it as the continuation of the Beast Wars characters' lives and adventures, it's actually really good.

I loved ReBoot. That series is actually the reason I started watching Beast Wars in the first place. I liked the old TF series, but I thought the fact that these new dudes would turn into animals instead of vehicles was lame. I gave it a shot because it was from Mainframe, the same people who made ReBoot, and I was very happy with my decision. :)

Well, in your opinion, how good is it compared with the Beast Wars series? Are there any changes in tone or story telling?
