it's Conrad Veidt from the movie The Man Who Laughs. there's clips on youtube. Bob Kane handed Bill Finger a Joker card, Finger remembered the movie and that was the beginning of the Joker right there

Haven't read through the thread but I like Bale's slower, more thoughtful delivery, less overblown. He doesn't have the most powerful of voices though so there's only so much that can be done.

True hopefully less growling and better convo skills. The helmet could be reduced a bit, but at least his face is bulging out of the cowl. In ceratin parts of "Begins" he looked like he had a few too many hamburgers.

In the scene where he says "this is just the beginning" he actually has a small double chin.

The scene that particularly stands out to me is the "It's not who I am that defines me, but what I do" scene, he looked pretty backed up.

I am going to consider all the factors of the suit being filmed by the Today show and all but for those defending it by saying it's the camera angles and it will look better when Nolan shoots it, I mean, shouldn't the suit just look good from any angle? I was a massive collector of Batman 89 and Returns. Baseball cards, magazines, making of specials on TV, etc and I don't recall ever seeing an angle of the suit that made me go "ugh..."
