Ben Affleck releases Deathstroke footage on Twitter

Joker will never be screwed over. In a wider universe, it's time to get to these others characters who everybody wants to see on the screen. Does this mean Deadshot is screwed over too? No. It's just showing us that Batman has had entire run in's with his whole rogues list. They can pull any of them out at seemingly any time now. Or is this yet another damned if you do; don't DC situation?

With all due respect mate I feel you're kinda the opposite of this and you'd cheerlead pretty anything they put out.

Zod aside, the DCEU's villains are off to a bad start.

Well Enchantress was a generic character anyway and Joker & Lex were imo bad because of a desire to reinvent and be cool/badass/awesome whatever and different from the previous versions.
Deathstroke doesn't suffer from those problems so I'm fairly optimistic, if he does suck it'll be for new reasons.

No way he is the only threat in the Batman solo, I suspect he will be the primary antagonist on a physical level for Batman, but there will definitely be a Joker/Penguin/Two-Face/whoever pulling the strings.

Also a pet peeve of mine: the mask. I prefer a more cloth-like mask similar to the comics, but seems like they are going for the same weird plastic/metal helmet look as Arrow which makes his head look bigger then his body. A mask like Deadpool's would be great.

Preferably The Penguin, since we haven't seen him on film for nearly 2 decades. Hugo Strange is one who could also serve in the background.

black mask needs some love too

Why not? His brain is enhanced and hes got plenty of resources, his history both inside and outside of comics shows he can easily play the mastermind role. Hes only a hired gun as long as its not personal, if it does get personal then he wears it better than Cobblepot and Dent.

Seeing as they had said earlier in the year that the film will feature multiple villains, here is my idea for how to make Deathstroke the big bad:

You do an adaption of the Batman: Knightfall storyline, where Bane released the inmates of Arkham Asylum so Batman would have to face all his villains and be weak before he fought Bane.

Just do that but switch out Bane for Deathstroke.

This. On DC's official website it makes it a point that his most powerful asset is his intelligence. That's also what DS's current writer Priest is emphasizing. That's why he's the perfect foil for Batman.

He can use up to 90% of his brain at the same time to focus on any singular task as opposed to the baseline 20%.

That's why he's dangerous to the Justice League. Dude can easily pull a Tower of Babel on them.

You know, a good way to tie Slade to Bruce would be through Wintergreen and Alfred. The latter two could have served together in the SAS. Alfred would go on to be the Wayne's head of security while Wintergreen mentored Slade when he became a private contractor.

Deathstroke is basically evil/amoral Captain America, which makes him a great opponent for Batman imo.

That would make me dislike Rises even more. HardyBane was wasted.

Am I the only one who doesn't care for the current design?

What's not to like about it?

I don't know much about deathstroke. He was never in the animated series and the comics I read never featured him. I'm intrigued...

Can anyone recommend a Deathstroke story arch/book I can get into? Preferably with Batman.

My favorite interpretation of Deathstroke was in the Teen Titans animated series. It's a unique adaptation. That show solidified Deathstroke as Dick Grayson's primary villain in my eyes.

The definitive Deathstroke storyline is New Teen Titans: Judas Contract. I highly recommend it. They adapt that storyline in the animated series, and they're about to adapt in the animated DC universe

Personally I think the helmet sucks. Didn't care for it on Arrow or in AKO, either.

The rest of the outfit seems solid.
I don't mind the helmet so much. Just wish it was a bit smaller. His head looks one size too large as is.

Though if it were up to me, I'd have gone with something more fabric-based for the mask. Like this:

Yea totally f**** over. All those teases of Robin's death and if nothing comes from this...

Unless Deathstroke is hired to kill the Joker and Batman is forced to protect him. Which would cause an interesting dynamic.

Pen these movies.
