Well, to clarify, I think the members of Nickelback should be shot for crimes against music, and then their bodies should be hung up on spikes on the White House lawn and kept there until their skeletons slide down the pole, as a lesson to other would-be musicians.

Though your list is quite impressive, its very lacking. You should never list bands like Disturbed, Korn, and Drowning Pool with the true heroes of metal like AC/DC and Black Sabbath. Also, you're missing some of the key founders of the whole metal genre and some great pioneers of rock. As it is though, I voted for Black Sabbath, because as far as that list goes, they did the most for music and revolutionized it, making the way for bands like Metallica and AC/DC.

And why is Nickelback even listed?

The key here is to list states like Montana and South Dakota but not New York and California.

PJam is my absolute favorite.....Did everything in the industry backwards. Outsold even the great Nirvana when they went head to head. Fought the good fight against Ticketmaster but lost. Millions donated to great causes. EPIC live shows each night (2 1/2hrs) Played with the greats, Robert Plant, Bruce, Neil Young, REM, Bob Dylan,The Doors, The Who, U2, etc....even Bono has dubbed them the greatest band going today...coining the 'cute' term U-Jam when PJ opened for U2 last month.
