how the hell do you consider drowning pool, nickelback, distrubed, and korn as rock bands? yet ignore the who, jimi hendrix, the yardbirds, t-rex, etc...

either way, the correct answer is the beatles.

The Beatles are the greatest Pop/Rock band that there ever was.
Led Zeppelin is the greatest Hard Rock band that ever was.

I concur. But you for to add: Black Sabbath is the greatest metal band.

Which is who chose since he specifically said "metal" in the poll.

Disturbed is hard rock:huh:

No, it's not "Metal" bands, or The Eagles and Pink Floyd couldn't be there.

It's Rock and/OR Metal.

He may have made a dumb poll (again), but I don't think anyone's dumb enough to call Pink Floyd or The ("There's Gonna Be A Heart Ache Tonight" Eagles "Metal".

And, I thought about saying Sabbath best Metal, but in relaity, I think they were the precursors of Metal, but not quite metal.
They really do a lot of Blues-Oriented Hard Rock, just like Zeppelin.
I mean, listen to "The Wizard".
I don't really think "Harmonica" when I think "Metal".

I'd call them "Heavy" but I see them as more of, the Father of Metal, but not quite Metal yet.

From those in the poll- I can't choose between Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, and Queen.

Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Blue Cheer, and Sir Lord Baltimore all had a hand in creating the Metal Behemoth

Out of sheer curiosity though, where the **** are The Who and The Kinks? And why are Nickelback, Korn, Rob Zombie, and Disturbed also present on this poll? Heck, I adore GNR and Def Leppard, and even I don't think they deserve a spot on the poll.

The Beatles.
And Why in the hell is Nickelback on the list?

well best is a little hard to define, but surely rolling stones deserve a mention? Long running, at least 50 well known tracks by the general public, made social reforms and helped with the race movements in america, provided free concerts, and is one of the most recognised bands of all time. hmmmm

Where in the hell are the Stone Temple Pilots? If junk like Nickelback is on there, then STP should damn well be on there.
