Its a tie between Minority Report and Munich.

Minority Report. It's so damn brilliant.

Catch Me If You Can comes close though.

1) Munich 4/5
2) Minority Report 4/5
3) War of the Worlds 4/5
4) Catch Me If You Can 4/5
5) Crystal Skull 3/5

Haven't seen the rest.

Minority Report was all kinds of awesome, still haven't seen Munich. Terminal was just kind of like wtf. War of the Worlds would have been awesome if they would have just let Chatwik die. AI I really enjoyed, I always thought it was just really crazy. I loved catch me if you can. As far as Indy goes, all i have to say is this, Spielburg and Lucas were quoted rediculous amounts of times saying that they kept the c-g down to minimum to keep the film in line with the first three, the end result?: CG Gophers.

my vote goes out to minority report, if only because it furthers at least some of the ideas of PKD.

Munich. I've seen all of those movies with the exception of Catch Me If you Can and Munich IMO really stands out.

Crystal Skull was my fave, but it was a close call between this one, Munich and Catch me If You Can.

Catch Me If You Can. Munich and A.I are a close second and third

I really like Minority Report and Munich, but Catch Me if You Can is my favorite

People are actually voting for War of the Worlds? That... makes me sad.

If it makes you feel better, it's on par with Terminal on the poll. :cwink:

disappointing decade for Spielberg i must say.

I think this has been a great decade for speilburg.

and I love the spielberg ending to ai

I agree. I really enjoyed a number of his recent films, but they rank fairly low-to-mediocre on the Spielberg totum pole. I'd argue that Munich was his only really notable artistic achievement out of the lot of them. Minority Report is perhaps debatable. Perhaps.

I think we need to turn these director threads in to discussions about the entire career of the director

I don't think Spielberg has ever had a "bad" decade. I mean... these are the classics from each. Judging by the number.. he's stayed fairly consistent.

70's : Jaws and Close Encounters of the Third Kind
80's : Raiders of the Lost Ark, E.T., Poltergeist (yeah, we all know he was the REAL director), The Color Purple
90's : Jurassic Park, Schindler's List, Saving Private Ryan
00's : Minority Report, Catch Me If You Can, Munich (A.I. is debatable but I believe it will be revered as a classic a decade from now just like ALL Kubrick films)

1. Minority Report
2. Munich
3. Catch Me If You Can
4. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
5. A.I. Artificial Intelligence
6. The Terminal
7. War of the Worlds

None of those films were horrible, but that's how I'd rank them. Seeing all these films clumped together is strange, they don't really scream Spielberg the way his older films do.

As entertaining as it was, I'd still consider Catch Me If You Can a minor work.
