Now we have had one or two decent to half decent superhero games..which one you reckon is best?
for me its either marvel versus capcom 2 or wolverine(x-men origins).

The SPIDER-MAN 2 (movie) game for the PS2.

I love that game, the web swinging is perfect.

Marvel Vs Capcom 2

very messy and disorganised game compared to other fighters, but the wide range of chars made me buy it... and i enjoyed it 8)

Spider-Man 2 is by far the best one, but Ultimate Alliance is really close too.

i never really got into spidey2...is spidey 3 any good..web of shadows is ok ish..but pete's voice is hideous!

My top five are...
1) X-Men (Konami's 6 player arcade game)
2) The Punisher (Capcom, a 2 player run n' gun game co starring Nick Fury)
3) Marvel Vs Capcom 2
4) Captain America And The Avengers
5) Watchmen The End Is Nigh 1 and 2 (retail edition, an old school...Beat Em Up)

I am looking forward to playing...Marvel Superhero Squad, which I ordered, and finally get to play in late october. MSHS is only $20, making it a must buy for fans of Marvel Superheroes. Unlike Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1 and 2, Superhero Squad is just a beat em up, which to me is very cool.

Haven't got the game yet, but it seems Batman: Arkham Asylum has taken that first spot.

Still love the Spider-man game for the original Playstation. Havent actually played B:AA yet but it looked promising from the demo.

Haven't played Arkham Asylum yet...

But surely since it's a Batman game it must suck. It's like a requirement for a Batman game.

Right now I'm gonna give it to Marvel vs Capcom 2.

Probably a toss up between Marvel vs. Capcom 2 or and Batman Returns for the SNES.

ive played the batman demo..it is good...maybe finally we are gonna be getting good games and good movies based around superheroes..

I haven't played Batman:AA or Wolverine (except the demos), so right now it's Marvel Ultimate Alliance followed by Spider-Man 2 & Marvel vs Capcom 2.

Hopefully MUA2 will be just as good or better.

I would go with either Batman Arkham Asylum or Marvel Ultimate Alliance.

I beat Batman: Arkham Asylum today, and it's hands down the best. It actually makes you feel like your Batman and it never gets repetitive for me.

spiderman 2 was fun, id just spend hours swinging around doing nothing. Batman seems pretty cool tho the lack of a jump is kinda disappointing to me. id prolly give it a rent, i dont tend to buy games with no multiplayer

1.) Spider-man 2 for GameCube/PS2
2.) Spider-man for PS ONE
3.) Batman: Arkham Asylum for PS3
4.) X-Men Legends for GameCube or PS2
5.) Batman Vengeance for PS2

6.) Ultimate Spider-man for GameCube
7.) Spider-man: Web Of Shadows
8.) Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction for GameCube
9.) Spider-man 3 for PS3
10.)Batman: Rise of Sin Tzu for GameCube/PS2

I'd honorably mention Batman: Dark Tomorrow just because it had amazing cut scene cinematic, great voice work, score and story. This all saved it from the abyss because the camera and controls were terrible.

Superman: Age of Apocalypse, Superman Returns were just bad...I had such high hopes for the latter.

X-Men Legends 2 was good, but exactly the same as its predecessor.

Hulk (2003) wasn't very good at all.

X3 stunk.

X2: Wolverine's Revenge also wasn't very good. There have been some good games in the last ten years or so, but not many greats. Those first six, I thought were VERY good. The rest of the ten were all solid.

Batman: Arkham Asylum is hands down the best made Superhero game to date. The attention to detail in the game is unreal. Its the best game at making you feel like the hero its portraying.

Superhero games, from this point on, will all be compared to Batman: Arkham Asylum.

The next, stand alone superhero game that drops, most likely will feature this line from the reviews:

"The game is good, but its no Arkham Asylum"

X-men Legends I & II
Marvel Ultimate Alliance
X-men Origins Wolverine
Spiderman 2
Incredible Hulk Ultimate destruction
Ultimate Spiderman

for me X-men Legends 2 was definetly the best. Spider-man 1 for the PS1 gets an honorable mention
