Too many English actors I adore.

The british have spawned the best actors. ;):p

I'm glad that Oldman is racking some votes.

I can't believe that we have Michael Caine, Christian Bale, and Gary Oldman in the same movie. A Batman movie, nonetheless.

How come Bale is leading? Yes, admittedly he was brilliant in Batman Begins, The Prestige, The Machinist and Equilibrium.

But other than those, how could one possibly vote him over other more prolific actors for Best UK Actor?

But I guess this being a poll in a messageboard dedicated to superheroes, it is somewhat hardly surprising.

because he was also brilliant in Harsh Times, American Psycho, Empire of the Sun, etc...

Oh, c'mon now. You really think he was voted for other than his portrayal as Batman?

Don't get me wrong here. He's an accomplished actor. But certainly not enough to be voted best UK actor over the likes of Gary Oldman or Michael Caine, for instance.

But hey, to each his own. Besides, this poll is not definitive, anyway. It is actually a "Which UK Actor You Like The Most" thread. That's why my vote went to McGregor. ;)

Not really.

I will try to explain you.

Even if the movie is a piece of s***, Bale will still amaze you. I think he chooses weird roles in movies with not so high quality (except BB, The Prestige and Empire of the Sun), because he wants to prove that even with so bad movie he still can be on top. And he does it well. Also, he doesn't like to play the same role in every his movie. He's a chameleon. I won't be sureprised, if 20 years later he is better than he was.

It's no coincidence that Bale is leading.
Although very few really voted him in for the right reason, 90% of the reason for everyone else is because he was Bats.

Who would make this poll without including John Hurt? Who is most likely the greatest living actor? Seriously??? How do you sleep at night?

And why the hell is Jack Davenport on the list?????
