Ok here is a Best thread that has some oldy history and modern feel . War movies has been a great movie oulet forever it seems. With Flags Of Our Fathers coming out and Home Of the Brave. Thaought I'd pay tribute to the men and wemon on the military with the best 25 selections possible.

How can you leave these out :wow:

I've Never Seen Them I Don't Believe. That s why i have other for i have not seen every movie.

I liked the Longest Day. I thought it did a great job on showing the three POV of the war.

I voted for The Thin Red Line because I liked it, and then remembered The Great Escape. So, um, The Great Escape.

Black Hawk Down.

But yeah, I can't believe Apocalypse Now isn't on there. I wasn't too big a fan of Full Metal Jacket (mostly because of the last half), but it deserves to be up there too.

And Band of Brothers isn't a movie. It's a miniseries.

Sorry Guys I Just couldn't remember all the good war movies. Can't believe i forgot platoon. With the Worst Movie this i don't think i'll do anymore for the disgruntled masses. I honestly thaught that people didn't like Tomb Raider 2 and few i put up. My bad. So no more negative threads but i may do a most dissapointed movie thread. Again sorry i forgot Platoon and Apocolypse Now.

My favs:

Full Metal Jacket
Saving Private Ryan
Black Hawk Down

I haven't seen Eastwood's flick yet, but it 'Flags of Our Fathers' looks like it could do well. I liked the visuals in the trailer, but it was kind of tarnished by what the narrator was saying: typical rallying bs.

Saving Private Ryan is the best. The Great Escape is my favourite.

No no, you were totally correct in that assumption.

How can you do a best war movie thread and not include any of the Veitnam classics?!!!!!!

Where the hell is Apocalypse Now, Platoon, Hamburger Hill, Full Metal Jacket, Born on the Forth of July and Rambo First Blood Part II?!!!!

Anyway, they are my fav war films and this thread is gay.

Stop making polls if you can't do it right. As mentioned, no Apocalypse Now, Full Metal Jacket, or Platoon. No Das Boot or 12 O'Clock High either.

Lord of the Rings the two towers
edit: techniqually it was a war movie

Saving Private Ryan... this is a great film all around, amazing acting, story and Spielberg at his best. The first 20mins makes this film the best war movie EVER!!!

IMO ofcourse
